I'm conflicted about that. The NSCA-CPT book I have actually had a whole paragraph about how going to failure might be counterproductive, which is weird, but I'm not a strength scientist so I have no idea who to trust.
Yeah, but the Planet Fitness I know is DIRT cheap. Like, $10 monthly. A Gold's gym is $30.
That said, there's a point where you pretty much have to switch. If you're incline pressing 75s, it's time to upgrade.
Sure, but I'll add this nitpick: it's inappropriate to draw conclusions and pass them off as equally rigorous as if you had read the whole article, at least.
It's dirt cheap, so if you have one near you it might be an affordable option.
The one I know of has dumbbells up to 75lb. Obviously that's still limiting but if you get to the point where you need something more, you can always switch.

I actually went through the top mma fighters on Wikipedia once and looked at their backgrounds. Muay Thai, BJJ and wrestling were represented with about equal proportion. So whichever of these you pick, you're probably solid.
Any sort of fighting is going to be defined by what you're not allowed to do. In MMA you can't punch to the nuts or grab a weapon or gouge someone's eyes out or anything like that.
Realistically, the person who wins a street fight is going to be the person who has the best...
