    Doubles

When I was playing football they would have us go to summer workouts three times a week that lasted an hour and half maybe like 9 to 10:30. I remember always getting solid leg workouts in those days at football workouts but later in the day maybe around 4 I would go to my gym and do only upper...

Topic of the week: Is Overtraining BS?

Your point is valid and I agree that moving the sore muscle and stretching it with light weight will help to move blood around and give good mind muscle connection. I guess I should have made the point to say in my example above that going hard on a already really sore muscle will put you in a...

Hardcore bulk vs.short bulk and cut cycles

Doing a straight bulk would be ideal. Get to a good frame and you could always cut back down. I'm sure you don't have to fight back and forth with fat gain because you don't sound like a endomorph so I say just pound the muscle on and get to the weight goal you want. Eat like your already at...

Can't seem to get enough calories.

^^Peanut butter and milk will do it. At the very least put some scoops of protein in some baggies and bring it to work. Every couple of hours or so drink a shake and if you can do it with milk. May not be as filling as a chicken breast with brown rice but it'll get the job done! :)

Keep bulking until goals are reached?

I use to have really bad self-image problems back when I was in eighth grade. I was 140 something at almost 6'0. Answer you question I basically bulked until I got to the point I was happy or I thought I looked good and filled clothes out well. I would say, " oh I'm starting to cut this summer"...

    Plateau

Certainly at any age you can hit a point where things become slow and progress is almost brought to a stop. There's all different ways of going about it but it just depends about your end goal.

    Tips for wider lats?

I love doing heavy Tbar Rows because I know imma be hurting the next day. Heavy lat pulldowns and dumbbell/barbell rows are always a great way to add size and width as well!

    Program!

Y3T program or the Arnold Blueprint. They'll be pretty effective at getting your muscle to work but it's all about eating man. Gotta feed them GAINZZZ!!

    Smith machine vs Dumbbell bench

I honestly would go with Dumbbells for bench instead of restricting your range of motion with the smith. Incline dumbbell bench has still and always will be my favorite exercise for chest. Broscience, "you use machines? Well that's unfortunate because their lifting your not!" Ha :)

    The PR Thread

My friend and I aren't much powerlifters as of we like bodybuilding training more but nothing beats the feeling of breaking a new PR. Bench was 275 last summer, went through a shoulder surgery for football and this summer so far me and my friend maxed 355 almost 365 ha. Don't know my squat max...

Topic of the week: Is Overtraining BS?

^^Exactly, couldn't say it better myself. If someone were to have a great leg workout and are incredibly sore the next day the typical thought is to rest and heal to do legs again, but say instead you do it again the next day you could risk injury and slow down recovery. Good rule of thumb if...

Want to grow and get back to basics

That setup looks like a great rotation and should be pretty beneficial. Hey I also have to say that I like where your heads at with wanting to punish yourself with weights and all. Me and my gym buddy would always pump ourselves up and curse the weights out or mock them before sets. Ha it's...

Motivation Having a clear goal and never forgetting why you started, where you came from, and where you will go! Also diet!

Topic of the week: Is Overtraining BS?

Sorry if I'm jumping on this a little late, but this is what I think. When you go to the gym whether it be 3, 4 or 7 days a week and have workouts last past an hour then I don't consider that over training. Like many have mentioned before there's more to just volume, but I'm sure if a person...

    Question about Volume and Intensity...

I've always been stuck wandering the same thing when it comes to intensity vs volume. I think rep ranges that exceeds 15 or 20 reps have their place and will subject your body to a very suitable load as long as it's not too easy. I think your example of 5 sets at 10 reps for that load would be a...
