^^ I second this. I pretty much abandoned arm workouts for heavy pulls, cleans and chin ups without straps and my arms really grew. My bi's lag, too so I'll throw in one bicep exercise with my back workout and that seems to be helping. But nobody's ever truly happy with their bicep size...
Fwiw, I'm 39; as my dead lift and squat went up, so did my bench and so did my pec growth. I'm also partial to overhead push press with emphasis on the negative portion. Find a program and stick with it for 8 weeks and it will work.
Once I ditched the running shoes and went flat footed (socks only or Converse) my knees felt great and my weights went up significantly. I'm 39 btw, so these things do work well..
I like how point #1 basically throws CrossFit under the bus. "Exercising till you vomit" is not a measure of success or progress and lying supine on the floor after a billion ****ty kip ups is not the same progress as squatting or dead lifting. Good read for the ladies.
$200/month, for basically an exercise class. My gym costs $20. I'd save up 3-6 months worth and go hire a good trainer to show me the basics of strength training if I were "new" to any sort of program that involved barbell use.
