All great recommendations. Thanks guys. I've never tried Amentoflavone or Anabolic XT so I'll look into those. Citrulline, Creatine, and Betaine are already in there. ARA just dries out my joints too much that I'd be worried about that with squats. I might add a natural anabolic or 2 in there.
My gym is doing a mock powerlifting competition in a few months. I'm looking at throwing in PA with basics like creatine and pre. Anything else for strictly strength gains, not necessarily muscle gains/fat loss?
I like it. I usually do standing and it's light weight. If I want to push more weight I'll do seated smith machine to be safer. I think it's a great movement for development and mobility.
How would you suggest you use GlycoPhase in a cut vs. bulk? I've tried the product and like it, but I always get confused by the different suggestions of pre workout meal vs. post workout meal vs. any carb meal vs. fasted cardio, etc.
AlphaBuild was a great supplement for me. I started a slow cut at 228, after 3 weeks I added AlphaBuild at 225. I initially thought I’d drop weight down around 215-218 but the weight didn’t seem to drop off and it’s because I retained and even built some muscle during these 4 weeks. Considering...
I just wanted to give a quick update. Down to 243 so that's a loss of about 4 lbs in the last 3 weeks or 12 lbs since starting about 12 weeks ago. Week to week is frustrating, but big picture is great. All we have done is clean up the diet Monday-Friday, increase steps, and start lifting 2 days...
Yeah my parents know I have been devoted to this lifestyle for over 10 years. Thanks guys. I appreciate it all. I'll keep motivating it as a lifestyle change with so many benefits that a crash diet will never give you.
I love working out. Always have. So it's hard for me to understand. But I think it's something you learn to love when you see the results. I'm hoping that's the case for him and I can get him to want to do this on his own. Once he sees that he feels better, looks better, has a better golf game...
Totally agree with you. I'm kind of playing the long game here, but trying to make sure he doesn't lose patience. If I have him eating healthier and building muscle he should naturally increase his metabolism a bit and create the deficit that we want. I also have tracked he averages about 4-5k...
Thanks for this. That's kind of what I was thinking. He already takes a Multi and fish oil so I only want to add a supplement if it will help him be healthier in a significant way.
So for the exercise changes would you slowly ramp up to that? Do I add a cardio day first and just keep adjusting...
I've heard a lot about BMP, but never used it personally. I'll look into it. I don't want to throw too many things at him at once, but I can't help but think hormonally he could be assisted as well just with being 57 and overweight.
Thanks. Yeah I think he dropped the initial water weight and has slowed down since. I wouldn't be surprised if he's put on some muscle and lost fat since then too since lifting weights is all new to him. I think what's hard for him is that he knows people that recently have starved themselves...
I'll be honest and tell you I've never done a product log, but I think I could be a good candidate.
I have 1 week left of a bulk/strength building phase. I plan to in the first half of May start a cut/bodybuilding split with no other supplements other than staples (multi, fish oil, vit D...
Like others have said supplements won't do a ton, and I like the products you have already tried.
For pure fat loss though I like having extra carnitine and yohimbine while fasted in the morning. There are also several supplements that might help hold muscle while losing weight. If you have...
I was thinking getting him consistent walks and 2 full body workouts a week would probably help quite a bit. Any other recommendations about specifics?
