I hadn't really thought about either of those things but just now reading your post I put my hand in a gripping motion in front my belly button and flexed it like I was grabbing the rod (stick? bar? meat monster?) and noticed just holding it there in a static position did flex my lateral head...
I think based on that set you are underselling yourself, to yourself, and you're going to be very happy with how you see things progress over time. I think a double bounce at tops weights like that would leave me pinned beneath the bar so I'm betting as practice continues the weight continues...
LOL my buddy who I share an office with keeps his phone off wifi at all times so when he has something spicy he just goes "hey check your dms on fb" (or IG or whatever) LOLOL thats how he dodges HR
yeah you had it right, Rogue calls it a sports bar. I could see how it could be used to mimick a golf or baseball swing like in that pic, but I just one hand it like I would a normal one handed tricep extension. I've only used it a few times as an experiement and I think there's something to it...
its sorta like the one handed grips in that the overall weight is going to be lower but I can change the position/rom a bit to target a specific area.
with the straight "sports bar" handle (or whatever you want to call it) I was probably only setting the stack at like 42lbs or so but walking...
I throw my wrist wraps on as part of ritual usually after my first (empty bar) or second warm-up set and leave them on typically until I hit the locker room, just tightening them down for a set and loosening them up after the set. I'm not sure I even need them anymore but the bracing feels...
LOL Rogue calls it a sports handle, I've found like 6 names for it so far, but I like using it for tricep pushdowns/extensions occasionally, feels like an interesting grip challenger since I have to actually grip it rather than palming it to press it down. I just grab it with one hand at a time...
3-5lb swings weekly should be pretty normal I think just off hydration alone, how full your guts are etc but you've trended well for like 2 years now. slow and steady is definitely proving that you have the lifestyle side of dieting pretty well on track. Honestly it shouldn't even be called...
amen to that. I don't think people understand how much work your abs can put in when pressing hard with all their might against the belt in a heavy pull or squat. I can walk away from heavy deads or squats with jello abs after a hard belted set.
for me its definitely the 2nd half of the lift is the strongest. when I am at top end weight what I do for the bottom 10% of the lift fully dictates whether I will have success or not, even if the weight itself is achievable. I've been really working hard to improve bottom position as though it...

Decent day, hit my numbers +2. I did forget my belt today so I wonder if with a tiny more bracing if I had 6-7...
we use claude almost entirely at home (my wife and I) to keep track of homestead stuff (plant dates, germination, lbs fed etc).
she did the same thing as you and Claude replied and said "oh I know, I speak your language, I knew what you meant" LOL!
I'd like to jump on this to hear your thoughts as well since you're coaching today. for me its going to be about the half way point if I'm going to fail a big lift. far enough off the chest to hold it and verbally say "take it" to my spotter. probably similar to your 3rd bench attempt last...
I'm glad to see you say that, I am the same way and sometimes feel silly putting it on before I need it. but I figure it gives me maybe that 1mm of stretch in the leather, and lets body adjust to the change in ROM.
you didnt' ask me, Seg but i'll pipe in anyways. I put my sleeves on before I put my pants on in the locker room. they stay on until my leg pump forces me to strip them down to the ankles or get back to the locker room.
belt goes on for heaviest top working sets. (for me. so typically if I have...
