He might have meant tetradecylthioacetic acid but I think the oral bioavailability there is probably pretty good. I couldn't find data with a quick search. Maybe it causes gut/GI issues?
It depends on what they're cycling but, yeah, it's pretty common. Usually during the cycle an aromatase inhibitor is used and a SERM is typically used post cycle.
