Don't waste your money on a mass gainer. Either eat whole food or use a chocolate whey and blend it with whole milk, peanut butter and oats. It will taste a whole lot better than a mass gainer anyways. Also mass gainers usually use low end ingredients.
There's been a lot of talk about how a lot of dairy can screw with your hormones, but I don't think it really has a dramatic effect. It could give you some bloat but other than that I would think it would be alright.
Yea I used to have that exact same problem, I finally broke the habit but it still comes back occasionally. That's an awesome drill in that vid. Doing that everyday for a few minutes with just like a pole or something would be great to reinforce that feeling.

14 pounds in a few days?? Try not to lose it so fast or you sacrifice a lot more muscle. Go for maybe 2 pounds a week, you will hold on to muscle much more efficiently that way.
I do not think you should do both types of deadlifts the same day. I would pick one style for that day and then maybe do the other one the next workout (straight bar is way more useful IMHO though). And with squats being the same day, a problem you could come across is lower back fatigue. But...
