Liver supplement- health regime for a healthy liver

And yet ignored repeatedly. Why are guys so quick to buy (and ingest) supps they don't need?

Liver supplement- health regime for a healthy liver

FYI: simply training itself raises AST and ALT. Low 50's might just be from that

I realize you aren't the OP, but that is pretty much the theme of this entire thread. . .

Liver supplement- health regime for a healthy liver

OP-not criticizing, but have you stopped to consider all of the $ you are spending in the hopes of optimizing (slightly) your "levels", some of which you admit show that you are as jacked up as you fear?

New idea for high protein foods

I am with you-good stuff. Bill Penzey hasn't made many friends in my neck of the woods, however, for calling those in my county ignorant bigots for voting Republican

New idea for high protein foods

Great store and products, so long as you don't mind a liberal agenda with your lemon pepper and sage

    anti inflammatory for post workout?

And post workout limits the training benefit of the workout. Still would avoid it

Eat, train, rest. How ****in hard is it? This isn't brain surgery.

This thread is the psycho-social equivalent of a catastrophic car wreck. I want to look away so badly, but cannot. #SoMuchDisfunction

    Body fat estimation

At the risk of sounding like a d!ck: who cares? It looks like you made some great progress-be happy with that. We can all throw out numbers that will be highly inaccurate guesses. What does a bf % get you? A better job, a cash payment, a hotter girlfriend? The # doesn't matter my friend

Carb restriction and loading before endurance event

Is that case, just to be clear: there is no real benefit to carb depletion prior to loading. Just do 3 days at 70%

Carb restriction and loading before endurance event

There is a school of thought that favors "training low and racing high"-in terms of carb intake. If you want to go that route-fine. I will tell you that there is no ergogenic benefit on race day to depleting your carbs or training in a depleted state-the research (and my experience) just...

Carb restriction and loading before endurance event

If you are truly looking for performance, you will need to drop a low carb diet for the time that you are actively training for the half. I've tried doing it LC more times than I can count: it is suboptimal to be sure. If you are just looking for a boost, go 70% for 3 days. Skip worrying about...

Carb restriction and loading before endurance event

50% of cals from carbs is not a ton, he!l, it's basically maintenance for endurance training. I get the appeal of low carbs generally, but if you are training for performance-esp in an endurance event, carbs are a necessity. You asked for a way to maximize performance in a half marathon and you...

Carb restriction and loading before endurance event

    50% isn't really a load at all-you are only rolling 70% for 3 days

Carb restriction and loading before endurance event

Basically, you ramp into a diet that is 70% CHO: 3 days at 50%, 3 days at 70% as you taper down your training (running less as you approach the event) This has worked very well for me in marathons, I run halfs without loading, but halfs are a different beast for me

Carb restriction and loading before endurance event

Carb loading will help, but only marginally-esp. for a half marathon. If you do load, the depletion is less important (studies have been mixed) than loading for 2-3 days.

    Increase mile time help

All good advice-probably the best I can add is a tweak on the tempo idea suggested above: warmup for 5 min, then roll sets of (1 min fast, 2min slower-as fast as you can go and still recover) do as many sets as you can without slowing down. As for the shin splints: that is due to form. Your...

    Diet tips

A couple things here: 1) You are an athlete--you need to structure your diet to maximize your performance. At your age, you are also a growing and developing athlete. Monkeying around too much with what you eat will not only set you back in cheerleading but also in development. Your diet...
