Costco's "Protein Pop Plus" 30g P 130 Cals are clutch! (clear protein)

I know there are cheaper protein options, but for $2.40 a can, it's better (and maybe cleaner) than most decent deals on clear whey. I have been slamming these during my cut and have loved the ease and drinkability. They are refreshing and easy to digest no bloat or discomfort and the preservative is "mushroom". Definitely worth a try.

Looks interesting. I think just as an FYI for people is to keep in mind it isn't 30g of WPI, it also contains collagen. There has been a big collagen push the last several years and there are plenty of potential reasons one may use or benefits, just something to be aware of here. Collagen is going to have an amino acid profile high in glycine (funny just commented on that in another thread), proline, and hydroxyproline while being low in leucine (although specifics are tough without full transparency).

Don't take this as a don't drink, just something maybe to be conscious of for some.

In other words it's probably 20 g of whey / containing leucine , and 10g of collagen ? I like collagen for skin and joints even though the jury still seems to be out, BUT I agree this could be a case of 'spiking'.

For me, I am using this as an alternative to clear whey powder (20g of protein/serving) which clumps and doesn't dissolve well. So I think it is a fair / equal comparison. I still do traditional whey but can't stomach it pre, cardio or intra workout.

Happy to hear everyone's opinions and input.

Ya I'd assume something like that, at worst 15/15. I think collagen is fine in some scenarios and I am not trying to dissuade from using these, just think its important to know. I'll honestly likely grab some of these myself though so I do appreciate the thread.
 
i havent had that brand but have tried bucked up RTD protein and it was delicious

i usually dont drink rtds but if a deal is good ill pick it up
tiktok is very underrated for deals ... i got like 12cans for $15 bc of 50-60%off coupon they had it going.

No sorry this is all I saw regarding this specific product, and thought I better add it to counter my rave reviews of the "Protein Pop". I couldn't find anything from my cursory search regarding a lead test. And it is also worth noting that the guy who posted is SELLING the ap where the results came from. I still think it's worth being wary of the product, but also wary of the lead 'test'. If anyone has any more info I would greatly appreciate it. Especially how it compares to other whey products which have also found to contain lead. I have gone from 3 a day to 1 when a craving hits EOD, and doubled my antioxidants (Vitamin C, Spirulina, Glutathione, charcoal etc) to help flush some of the potential lead exposure.

Use a blender or hand blender. Go back to the actual powder, save money and get a better formula.

I use a 72oz blender pitcher. Add water 3/4 of the way. Toss in 4 scoops. Blend. Put it in the fridge to settle; takes about 10-30min depending on brand. Then open the spout and fill with more water. Blend. Back in the fridge. Now I have a 72oz pitcher of actually clear whey no clumps.

I buy and keep spring water in the fridge and once the blending is done, it's already cold vs using tap.

I think brands should be giving away hand blenders when they can. Most clears take too much effort to shake by hand. I know others that ran into your issues and after I shared my method they tried it and have been drinking clear since.

This is the whey for clear. It isn't easy but preparing 6+ scoops for a day or two does help. I find the MyProtein takes 24 hrs and a few blends to become 'syrup' that I can then add to water. What company do you go to for clear powder?
