Well I found out cuz the plates I was using made the bar closer to the ground so I used some boards and rose the bar a little under mid- chin level and can DL 315 twice. I really like this lift, I seem to be pretty good at it and my back doesn't hurt either. I hope to develope Leg strength and...
I did 5 sets for DL today and during the last 2 I noticed my triceps felt sore. Like I've been doing tri extensions or something. Clearly I'm doing something wrong so since I have no one to ask in person, what could be causing this?
I have weights that don't get the bar very high off the ground for my deadlift (about 2 3/4 inches) and I was wondering how high off the ground I need to start that bar off from. It would be very appreciated to know and thank you in advanced.
I have now started using the infamous deadlift today. Very intense. My 1rm so far is 275 lbs but my hammy is a little sore so I don't doubt I could do more, and was wondering what is a realistic goal for someone my height and weight to lift? I am 5'7, and 170 lbs there about most of the time...
So I was was wondering if I can lift a certain amount of weight one, and only one time, could I increase that into reps over time with out adding more weight or is there no other way?
Make sure you are adding weight little by little on each bicep day. OFcourse eat lots of protein. Those two things go a long way. IF you add weight to it by small amounts, then their is no need to trick them into growing.
That depends on your body. If you are comfortable with that system then stick with it until you hit a wall. I do 5 sets of 3 reps myself and that has worked for me.
Alright so I want to start adding more to my regimen in training so I was wondering what are the benefits of the deadlift? I searched around and some people say it is the best total body workout, and some say it only works the lower back and top of the legs. What do you think?
Find a weight you can lift 3 times at most. When you are confident, add slightly more weight to it. Be careful and keep up the goal. That is my goal too.
Thanks guys for your help. I never really thought about only lifting heavy once or twice a week, and the other times lift lighter for more reps. Rest will help me. I should probaly quit being so insecure and trust this advise. My goal is 225lbs off the chest. That's the beginning of my movement...
No I do squats and curls too. But my primary lift is benchpress. Should I lift heavy only certain days and take some weight off during the others? I just think it's weird less than 24 hrs ago I could throw that weight at the sun and now its like WHOA who is sitting on this bar as I try to lift?
I do it everyday but only go all out 3 or 4 times a week. The other days I do like 2 sets a day. And as you saw I space out those sets quite a bit. I have fast metabolism and can't afford to go a day off fully or I lose strength indefinitly until it is earned back again. And that takes weeks.
