  2. Commerical MRP Suggestions

hey thebigt, first off - thanks for your feedback. After looking into it, Golden Gains looks pretty good, my only beef with it is that it doesn't appear to be suitable for people who are lactose intolerant. Would you happen to be lactose intolerant by any chance?
  3. Commerical MRP Suggestions

My goal is to find an MRP (meal replacement) shake that meets the following criteria: 1. 35-45g protein per serving (whey / slow-digesting protein) 2. LACTOSE FREE or very, very, very low lactose 3. No maltodextrin or sugar equivalent 4. No creatine The only reputable MRPs I can find are...

  5. Weight belt is REQUIRED for squats at my gym

i must say that I'm bewildered. The head trainer and most of the trainers are HUGE professional bodybuilders and know all the exercises inside-out [well it really sounds like it anyway] ...and yet the insistence on the belt for squats.....it's ironic

  7. Weight belt is REQUIRED for squats at my gym

i'm just starting out on squats. I want to get my form solid before I go all out. I've read from many sources that it's not a good idea to use a belt when starting out.
  8. Weight belt is REQUIRED for squats at my gym

haha...that's an interesting solution. I guess I would have to wear it loose enough to not support anything, but yet tight enough to appear that I'm following their rules so they'll be willing to spot me.
  9. Weight belt is REQUIRED for squats at my gym

thanks everyone for replying. jasonschaffin - I'm just starting out on squats with very light weights and concentrating primarily on good form. According to the head trainer, ALL people who use their squat rack WEAR a belt, and I am the ONLY oddball who doesn't and that is unacceptable. It's...
  10. Weight belt is REQUIRED for squats at my gym

The head trainer at my gym told me that I MUST wear a weight belt for squats, and if I don't, NONE of the gym trainers will be permitted to spot me on that exercise. He stipulated that (1) that's their policy (2) it's for my own protection (3) I'm the ONLY one with this problem. This is a big...

  12. Do you count inferior protein sources into your daily protein count?

Do you count inferior protein sources into your daily protein count when comparing it against your daily total protein goal [ 1g - 1.5g per lb of bodyweight/lean body mass] depending on your goals - cutting or bulking. For instance, if you ate a meal containing... 1 egg (6.5g complete protein)...
  13. How to implement low GI PWO

OCCFan023 - Right on. That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks everyone for the great replies. I've decided to adopt the following meal plan with the goal of bulking up for a 60kg skinny small-frame male: ==================================================== [8:30AM] Breakfast Oatmeal + 1...
  14. How to implement low GI PWO

Has anyone else come across this dilemma PWO? Supposedly you need Carbs+Protein immediately after working out; however, wouldn't a low GI carb source such as oatmeal slow down the digestion of whey? If so how does one utilize low GI PWO? Thoughts anyone?
  15. How to implement low GI PWO

I've read from several sources stating that high GI carbs are not necessary PWO [low GI carbs are just as effective since u supposedly don't need the initial insulin spike], and was wondering how one could effectively apply this. If I were to consume a shake containing whey + oatmeal powder...
