I've been lifting just over a year now after a 10 year hiatus. I completely tore my left pectoral while bench pressing when I was 21 yo. The repaired pec was re-injured not long after surgery, and I gave up weights and began focusing on running.
After running 3 marathons, and countless hours of cardio training, I could never break a plateau in my weight loss. My body composition was not flattering either. I decided I needed a change, and began hours of online research into diet, weight training, HIIT, etc.
Despite the old injury, I decided I HAD to give weight lifting a try again, even if it was just for reps and endurance. I knew I wouldn't be able to bench heavy, so I started off small - with pushups. I could hardly do 5, my shoulder and chest were so weak. But I kept at it. I focused on form and light weights in my other lifts. I got my diet in order. And I kept at it.
Fast forward a year and some months now, I have completely transformed my body. Thanks to the advice and guidan
