    Ever tried to swim 1000m min front crawl (nothing big imho) ? I did, and each time I found myself solving mathematical or programming problems. Same with fasted steady-state cardio early in the morning. It can get too boring. Only thing that helps me is music, thrash metal and distorted guitars...

    The only reason why I listen to music while doing cardio is not to die of boredom. Doing exactly the same thing (like running, swimming) for 30 min or longer makes me want to solve differential equations.
