No my question is not how to cure soreness, cardio post workout helps btw,
My question is do you still gain muscle if you dont go to failure on each set or dont take any measures that usually ends up with soreness?

Your workout is by default catabolic, you are tearing muscle fibers apart and burning glycogen and breaking amino acids ( when you do too much or your blood sugar is low )!
So dont blame the cardio.
But on the bright side, cardio after workout will make the blood flow faster,washing the lactic...
Do incline DB flys. Start with your hands wide open and bring your arms only half way instead of the typical inc db press.
