My employer, and they get paid through multiple channels including clients and customers.
You know, the same way most places create income.
Unlike the US, we were relatively covid free for over a year and our local businesses continued to thrive.

Got paid to go for a hike today. Took my laptop and did some work from a pretty nice spot for a few hours before coming back home and finishing up some more stuff.

Now your specifically referring to mega-corporations, yeah I agree its screwed up and thats why regulations always screw the little guy, including stuff regarding minimum wage issues, its all designed to crush competition and the big corporations behind the scenes are for it.....and besides they can also afford to move into the directions of robotics and automation to replace humans.
I would love at least our tax dollars were only directed at helping Americans, I do have a "socialist" side to me, but there is a strong reason Im a Libertarian (political atheist at heart) and preach small government and self dependency, there is no trust in big government.
There is no reason anybody should ever be hungry or not have at least a clean affordable place to live, but big government here isnt going to ever make that happen. Even our (just former as of today as he resigned) liberal progressive democratic governor of NY who had the reigns of being a champion of homeless community (appointed NYC homeless commision as far back as '93) had 12 years and accomplished nothing and put NY State into a financial crisis.

Not sure what happens next.... I don't see any way in hell we get all our US citizens out plus the 6000 troops we have there now along with their armor and air assets in one week.
This fake nice Taliban 2.0 is saying all the right stuff and acting like they want to be legitimate on the world stage. Will they extend the date at the last minute for a big payoff to look like the good guys?
Or do they care about holy war and expelling all foreigners by a deadline more than money and prestige. Oooofa.
Wildcard is whether the Taliban can even control ISIS-K or Alqueda remnants even if they wanted to.

Turns out per this data set, that if someone is vaccinated and has a symptomatic breakthrough case, their viral load is through the roof. Much more to dig into on this study but maybe the vaccinated are the super spreaders?

Did you read the study or just the abstract, because it doesn't say what you think it says. In fact this paper is only comparing data being vaccinated people, so to draw the conclusion that vaccinated people are more contagious than unvaccinated from this paper is absurd, because they don't even compare the 2 groups.
But you'd know that if you actually read the paper.
That would be like if there were a study comparing car accidents where all the occupants were either wearing over the shoulder belts or lap belts, and the study concluded that when compared to each other, lap belts did not prevent serious injury or death as much as over the shoulder belts you'd probably go around saying "SEE LAP BELTS ARE DANGEROUS IM NOT GOING TO WEAR A BELT AT ALL" when the study didn't compare those 2 belts to no belts.
People drawing the wrong conclusions from studies is why so much misinformation and fake news is circulating.
