On a side note, nobody answered why BLM doesn't protest when black on black crime occurs...? 96% of black homicides are committed by other black people. So why isn't BLM protesting this?
I just heard a story about a black teenager being burned alive in a dumpster in Chcago because he wouldn't join the gang...where is BLM?!?!?!?!

BLM is focused on injustice. The US doesn't have a problem locking up black people for crimes, but it does have a problem with cops that commit crimes and go unpunished. So when black on black crime occurs, those people are prosecuted and sent to jail. When a cop commits a crime, they require the internet and a lot of kicking and screaming to even get an arrest done in many cases.

What happend in MN was Chauvin unessesarily murdered a civilian, his name was George.
I did not see evidence the murder was racially motivated, but rather that he was a shytty cop and I think the focus should be on system reform and better protections between police and civilians.
So yeah, I think this isnt a "black lives matter's incident" being that I do not see a racial motive in the act, but rather a community incident, one of many and people had enough.
Of course I think BLM is wrong on many things, but I cant argue with them the system itself is screwed up agaisnt them...and by them I think them as civilians and Americans.

Way more people are molested by relatives and step relatives than by priests, so does that mean that we shouldn’t do anything about molesting priests? Or I have to talk about both, and can’t just focus on the priests if I want to? Surely someone can advocate to fight one problem at a time. That doesn’t mean they don’t think no other problems exist. Just like if I donate to fight cancer, that doesn’t mean I hate orphans and stray puppies.

Law enforcement has no problem concerning themselves with "black on black" crimes, the issue is when they are active fighting it wthey need to protect the rights and lives of innocent civilians and the same expedited proper due process needs to be executed when cop on black (anybody really) crimes are alleged. Thats the difference as Alek pointed out.

Unless other details come out I’m worried for the police officers. They are facing the death penalty for that! Now the MN cop I’d probably not be complaining.
I definitely this was a political decision more than anything....at least that’s how I feel today.

The MN incident was straight forward to me...i havent heard anyone arguing that the cop was justified in keeping his knee on Floyd's nexk...
This Atlanta incident is completely different. If it keeps going this way, no one is going to want to be a cop. Your department doesn't back you, and you could be criminally charged for using any kind of justified force. Screw rhat.

They are all making this about racial injustices too....Im not saying he deserved to get shot in the back as he was running away, but that kid was a drunk douche knocked out late at night in his car and he did the most obvious thing you never should do, fight the police after failing a sobriety test.
There is nothing about black skin involved here, this kid failed himself and unfortunately he paid the ultimate price. I really wish that never happened but I dont think these officers deserve the death penalty. As far as Id see it maybe at most perhaps strip them of their badge for showing a little badge judgment in a scary situation. It could have happened to any officer.

Those taser often carry multiple cartridges as well....there is case law stating an officer can shoot a fleeing violent felon. So, the whole shooting in the back thing is a mute point.

Kingston is an interesting city without alot of history, its the first capital of NY and home of the 2nd Revolution when the British re-invaded they burned alot of this city down.
Anyways, the petition simply states this as the reasoning...and then I will follow with a copy and paste of the full article.

Petitioners say the statues of George Clinton, New York state's first governor and a U.S. vice president; explorer Henry Hudson; and Peter Stuyvesant, former governor of New Netherlands, should be removed from the park.
The call for the removal comes amid a growing movement to remove monuments to Civil War heroes of the Confederacy in the wake of the death of a black man, George Floyd, at the hands of police in Minneapolis.
“Paying tribute to these men in a public place, where the Kingston community rallies and marches for Black lives, is unacceptable, and reinforces the traditional structures of power that make these lives feel unsafe in any space,” the Kingston petition says. “Let’s call on city officials and others to remove these statues. Then, the communities in Kingston that are most affected by racist violence should decide who is memorialized in Academy Green.”
The petition is titled “Kingston Monument Project.”
The park, which is bounded by Albany and Clinton avenues and Maiden Lane, is owned by the Academy Green Association, but is managed by the city. It is the former site of Kingston Academy, a precursor of Kingston High School.
Neither Kingston Mayor Steve Noble nor Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan responded to a request for comment on the petition. Each has marched in recent protests focused on racial injustice.
Officials with the Academy Green Association also could not be reached Friday.
The petition says the statues should be removed because Clinton was a slaveholder, Stuyvesant was an anti-Semite and Hudson colonized territories for the Dutch East India Company.
Clinton served as vice president under Thomas Jefferson and James Madison and was the first governor of New York state during and after the Revolutionary War, first from 1777 to 1795 and later from 1801 to 1804. Clinton was born in Little Britain in what was then Ulster County, now part of Orange County. He later lived in Poughkeepsie and led American troops against the British in the region during the American Revolution.
Clinton, who also served as Ulster County clerk for 52 years, was also responsible for the significant dispossession of the Iroquois Indians in the central and western part of the state. He is buried in the courtyard of the Old Dutch Church in uptown Kingston.
Stuyvesant was director of the trading company that jump-started much of the modern Hudson Valley. He came to the Hudson Valley in 1626 with the Dutch and, 20 years later, became director general of the West India Company that traded with the Native Americans who lived here.
The lucrative trade business encouraged Dutch businessmen, including Stuyvesant, to come to the area that was then inhabited by the Mohican Indians — also known as the Munsee — the Esopus Indians and the River Indians.
In 1657, Stuyvesant became governor of New Netherlands, and many traders and their families moved to his settlement near Albany and established the trading community of Fort Orange.
Hudson, an Englishman, who once called the river region later named after him "as beautiful a land as one can tread upon."
Hudson was one of the first Europeans to travel up what is now the Hudson River, thinking it could be a passage to India, and is believed to have met with natives in the area of what is now Kingston Point.
The three statues were donated to the city in 1950 by Stone Ridge resident Emily Crane Chadbourne, then president of the Senate House Association in Kingston. Chadbourne had seen a photograph of the three statues — made by Scottish-born sculptor John Massey-Rhind — being taken down from the Exchange Court Building on Broadway in New York City, according to former Kingston Historian Edwin Ford said.
She tracked the statues to a Brooklyn junkyard, bought them and had them shipped to Kingston, where she hired a contractor to make their bases.
The statues were unveiled on the Academy Green in a ceremony in June 1950, two years before Kingston celebrated the 300th anniversary of its founding in 1652.

I wonder if this is going to win Dump re-election.....generally Conservatives arent the "protest" type as much (funny joke, they are busy working at jobs!!! LOL) and this is one of the reasons he won in the first place. I can see them really coming out when it matters. Now its much worse than it was 4 years ago. I mean Im not voting for him at all, no way but I think this is what the country is going to get for another 4 especially with Groper Joe being his primary competition.

No tbh probably not at all, your post caught my eye because it said george clinton and i was like wtf has the guy from parliament funk done wrong haha, i was reading up on Hudson's history just out of interest and didn't notice anything obvious that would trigger people, but yeah i get the dutch east india connection, they used slave labour so sone would find that problematic
