6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

Been looking into Vince Gironda's Steak and Eggs Diet. 2 meals a day - steak and eggs - nothing else; 5 days a week, then a day off, then back on. Basically strictish keto. I scoured the webz for anecdotal info. It seems most people had success. There seems to be 3 basic issues: boredom, expense, sloGo on the throne.

So I made some small tweaks which should help all three. All cuts of beef instead of just steak. Adding in hot mustard and grated horseradish (which will keep things moving and adds flavor and won't mess with the keto).

It'll be a major change for in that I won't be having any protein shakes and I'll be having 2 meals a day instead of 1.

I might just try it for a week or 2 or.....we'll see

So, I'm considering doing a 6-day a week, full body workout for a while. Kind of HST style, but without the breaks. I was just researching programs involving squatting EVERY DAY. I'm getting ready to go and try to do a workout in a bit (lifted last night) - and I'm glad I checked this.

You may go by Beast73, but you are just "The Beast" in my eyes. Lean and big. You are leading the pack for sure man. Thanks for the motivation.

My son did the squat every workout and I think he made it a month and got tiered of tossing his cookies.
6 day HST. Post your workout for that. I would love to see it.
All I can say is I hope some serious gear is going to be involved!

I can only hope to look this good someday!

I have a log going, my workouts are going to be like this I think:

A:
Squats: 1 Warm Up Set, 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Straight Legged Deads: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Pull Ups: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Bench Press: 1 Warm up set, 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Military Presses: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Rope Face Pulls: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Rope Press Downs: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Barbell Curls: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range

B:
Deadlifts: 1 Warm Up Set, 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Leg Presses: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Bent-Over Rows: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Bench Press: 1 Warm up set, 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Military Presses: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Rope Face Pulls: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Rope Press Downs: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range
Barbell Curls: 1 Set to failure/HST style rep range

Just going to go A/B/A/B/A/B then a day off.

I'm going to try to follow an HST style progression - I'm in my 5 rep range right now and I'm going to keep that up until the end of this week, take the break and then start over at 15 for 2 weeks, 10 for 2 weeks, 5 for 2 weeks.

Only gear I have is high dose 11-KT and that's the harshest thing I have ever used (I know, weak sauce).

You got my attention on this one. With only 8 exercises this might work brother.
Tag me on the log. Unless I'm already following. Sorry I lose track.
Are you going to go 2 sets for week 3-4 and 3 sets for week 5-6.?
I'm all natty so I'm the week sauce!

I don't think I'll be doing multiple sets - I am doing 1 set in the 5 rep range right now. I'm pulling back on volume in light of the frequency. I am not trying to kill myself with intensity either. My thinking is that it has to be easy enough for me to recover REALLY fast, grow a little, and go right back at it the next day - but I am taking the idea of chronic stimulation from HST and bringing that to an extreme (I'm an extreme guy).

I started, technically, with my B workout last night and just did the A workout tonight - I am happy to report that there were some very small improvements even after just 1 day of rest. On Thursday I did 3 sets of 2 reps with 305 on squats, and today I hit 3 reps on my 1 set. 2 reps felt easy and I was thinking I had 4 in me, but then half way into the 3rd rep I just stopped and it turned into one of those long squats that takes 30 seconds to complete the last half of.

Bench Press, which is a weakness, I got 4 reps on - yesterday I failed at 3; but I did get 4 reps on the bench on Thursday, so it's kind of an improvement, but maybe not.

We will see how it goes. I will tag you in my log when I update tonight.

Guys I will be going live next week with a 8 week cycle.. get your popcorn ready!

If you don't tag me on that, I will derail that thread faster than FireTitan coming through the wall of burning house with the hottest college coed ever inside. Plus, we won't be friends anymore. haha.

That actually sounds pretty awesome hybrid of HST. I was originally concerned you would over train.

Yeah, did you see my name and my avatar? Haha - it's unusual for someone to worry about me overtraining, and unusual for me to try something like this - so your observation and mindfulness of over training makes me warm and fuzzy inside!!!

But that would still just be an S, right?

It would actually be a correct "s". If you look at it now typically bottom FAT hook on the "S"is at the top, if you flip it, it will look like a standard "S", making superman ordinary. Not to mention the fact the diamond would be upside down

Is an upside down diamond an illuminati symbol?

Is an upside down diamond an illuminati symbol?

Ahhh, crap. Now the Illuminati has to come up with a new secret code to flaunt in popular media - since you guys just figured it all out.

Day 29
Ok - either the higher dose of sup3r epi kicked in or it's a culminative effect, but today i was stronger on delt presses than I've been in a loooong time. AND its my 2nd day on super strict keto. Either way I'm gonna gamble and up the epi to 1000mg and see what happens.

I've cut down on my protein shakes - couldn't bring myself to cut them out completely, but I'm only doing 2-3 a day. And I've added in another meal. All meals made up of some kind of beef and 2-4 eggs. And I'm taking a refeed once a week for 90 minutes - within reason.

So today was delts and pecs. I walked in to do delt presses and the bar was already loaded with 135lbs, so I warmed up with 135 then tried jumping to 205 - and proceeded to do sets of 15! If things keep on like this I'm hoping to rep out on 225 by cycle end!

I then repped out on Hammer decline/incline and PecDec.
Good day at the gym!

Oh, and I'm not weighing myself for a while!
