Liftandswim's Log

Thanks, guys. I'm going to work up to 405 in my sleeves, then throw on the wraps. I'm thinking 440, 480, 500+???

And dmax, he can wrap me up. He's been using them for awhile. I think his best is 550 @220.

Haven't had a true cheat day (i.e. went above my calorie goal) in over a month. I think tonight that will end. Chinese buffet

Mmm... Chinese buffet. Hate the dehydration tho. Too full to pound water but you have to. lol

In before epic squat PR.

I would try to wrap earlier so u get the feel and for safety sake.. Maybe in 300's

I have little doubt u will hit 500

Going to the dark side I see. 500 should be easy pickings for you if you get the feel for the wraps!

I am the dark side, capo. Didn't ya know?

I still plan on training primarily in sleeves. Just happen to meet a guy in the gym who's about that wrap life. When in rome...

When we say practice in sleeves, we're talking a lot of practice. Take a bunch of small jumps. So take 405 in sleeves and then again in wraps. That way by the time you get up to it you know what's going on. Start loose with the wrap and get tighter every rep. Only time I tried Lilliebridge wraps I couldn't bend my knees at all. Hardest wrap I've ever been given.

Duly noted, sir. Y'all really are too helpful

Good luck man! Hope you surprise yourself on these!

I had no doubt!

Thoughts:

3 hour session today. Riding the high of my squat PR I attacked my upper body every which way.

Newfound respect for wrapped squatters. Those ****kers hurt! I'm bruised up pretty bad right now. As you can see, they stopped my cold at depth (couldn't have went deeper if I tried). Grinded that b!tch out too. Another hair on the bar and I would have been buried.

Screw the wrap haters too. After the initial pop out of the hole, it's all you. People on the internet act like you throw them on and BOOM you're the kabuki warrior.

Camera angle blows, but what can ya do. Side spotters would have blocked the side view.

Comments and critiques welcomed, as always.

Friggin awesome!!

Thanks, gents!

Here's the depth. I think I'm good. Squats always look high from the back, in my experience (i.e. from watching YouTube)

I'm actually really missing squats. I haven't gotten under a squat bar in 6 weeks now.

Yeah, I remember you were dealing with some injuries. Heal up for us, stat.

Edit: and yeah, I think in the video it looks iffy, but the screenshot does it justice. It's right there either way. Not worried about it.

Awesome squat! Congrats on the milestone! Looks like it was just hard. Your back stayed strong and tight. Maybe a little knee cave? Maybe? Looks like just keep getting stronger overall and you'll be good to go. Couple 4-6 weeks in wraps and that number would be even bigger as you get used to the wraps and the extra weight on your back. All in all, an awesome day!

Thanks, herder. Spot on with your assessment.

Wraps definitely take some getting used to. They clearly helped me, but I know I wasn't getting all I could out of them. Got all the time in the world to figure these fukkers out though. No rush.

Tiebreaker should be pulling 365 for reps. Just because I wanna see someone puke.
