Im am about 10 weeks out from my first show. Im cutting at the moment and am following a calorie cycle plan that my buddy is using. We are competing in the same show but he is 25 and I am 17. So basically what I'm doing is High, Moderate, Low calorie days as follows
High- 2375 kcal
Mod- 2075 kcal
Low- 1775 kcal
Monday- Chest (Cardio AM) High - 2375 kcal
Tuesday- Back (Cardio AM) High - 2375 kcal
Wednesday- Cardio PM - Low - 1775 kcal
Thursday- Shoulders/Arms (Cardio AM) Moderate - 2075 kcal
Friday- Legs (Cardio AM) High - 2375 kcal
Saturday- Cardio PM - Low - 1775 kcal
Sunday- Rest - Low - 1775 kcal
At the end of the week it equals the same calorie deficit as if I would follow the same amount of calories everyday for that week.
So my questions are as follow:
Is this a good approach to the cutting diet?
Is it true it will preserve more muscle mass?
Will it keep my body guessing and therefor burn more body fat?
Thanks to all, your help and feedback will be greatly appreciated!
