Does anyone know an easy way to get off a crimpted on stopper?

cut the aluminum.. I use a small knife to do mine

I just stick a small flathead screwdriver underneath and peel the top up all the way around the seal then it just's pops right off.

You could use pliers just be gentle and tilt the cap up.
