    ALA+no carb meal=bad idea?


    Would it make blood sugat go to low?

    It depends on how high the dose is, but in general, yes, it can give you mild hypoglycemia. If you want to take it, try pre-bed. You'll won't be awake for any of the blood sugar issues.

    Hypoglycemia can make you feel groggy and tired. What is your intention for taking ALA without carbs anyway?

    I have some ALA laying around, and people say to take it when you take ALCAR.

    Absolutely correct, if you take more than 2-3g ALCAR you should take R-LA for neuroprotective effect.

    I recommend Idebenone for the oxidative effects of ALCAR, or you could try SOD, either inject or the new GliSODin pills. Both are much better than ALA at protection from free-radicals while not having insulin mimetic effects.
