Honestly, don't think my body responds to creatine. I've tried all the fancy CEE and stuff and I don't notice anything. I've been using pure German mono that is supposed to be a really pure form, and I don't notice anything. I don't notice an increase in stamina, strength, or growth :censored:I just keep on downing it bc it's one of those super supps...

This is dumb since it's so popular, but since I've never felt much from cre i don't really know the effects -- what I should ideally be really feeling from it?

How long after starting creatine do you guys start noticing effects?

I take 10 mg on workout days and 5 on off days.

I usually start with 20 grams than after a week or two bump it down to 10, but i am sort of like you i don't see much from it. It bloats me up and I feel like i recover somewhat faster but thats it.

stop wasting money. 20% of the pop doesn't respond to creatine, me included.

It's just creatine. If you don't respond to mono, your money could be better spent on something other than trying to make the creatine absorb.

Just a shot in the dark, but depending on your diet, your body may be at peak creatine usage/refill chronically, to the point where further creatine supplementation produces no further results.

well i don't eat a ton of red meat, so i'm not sure if that's the case... but i could be a genetic freak -- oh wait, there's no way :biglaugh:

but this does bring up an interesting question -- anyone know why ppl don't respond? are their bodys already at max? or their bodies just dont use creatine well at all? :hmmm:

Your body uses creatine no matter what, it's a natural energy source. If the supplement isn't helping you, then your diet is off... You said yourself that you don't eat a lot of red meats. Or perhaps your training isn't satisfactory to produce results.

If anyone knows of a study that proves creatine may not work for you, please post it.

Have you looked into the loading method? Loading up on creatine really showed me results fast. Also, it takes a lot of sugar to help load large amounts of creatine. More sugar than from fruits.

FYI: I'm not a creatine fanatic, it's actually been about 7 years since I finished loading creatine. I gained a ton of weight, but I had to eat a lot more and hit the weights twice as much too. Since then I've been focusing on herbal supplements which change hormonal balances. Nothing against creatine because it does work.

Note: If you are using a supp to decrease recovery time and increase anabolism, you will need to eat more because the body will require more fuel. Also, decreased recovery times mean that you will be able to workout more often and increase intensity of your workouts too. This again presents a need for fuel.

PS: If you aren't eating enough meats you may not be getting enough saturated fats. This can be detrimental to your hormone supply and production. Not to mention lack of protein which is needed for growth. You need to be eating more food than the energy you burn for net growth to occur... EAT EAT EAT. Honestly, you could get the same effect from eating a ton of carbs all day long that you could get from creatine.

old school with straight grape juice for me.
This is how I started out first taking creatine when I was younger so of course it was cheap, mixed terribly and was overall bad lol...now grape juice never seems to taste the same :(

The first creatine product that I could feel was Syntrax swole, it's no longer available.

After that, I tried numerous hyped up creatine products with nothing to show for it, until I tried Neovar.

i could eat carbs all day, but i'm not looking to get fat. i eat tons of chicken rather than red meat because it's healthier (red meat is loaded with saturated fat), cheaper, and more practice to get your protein daily from chicken rather than steak. I know some people just don't respond to creatine. I'm hoping i'm not one of them.

I think it takes a TON of hard work before your creatine levels can get low enough for your strength levels to benefit from supplementation, without placebo. I really dont think your average guy who go's through gym phases can benefit from it to much.
