It has been miserably hot, once the sun is up it is in the 80s and peaking at 100* by 2pm. Even overnight lows are 80*, so the AC is running 24/7 pretty much.

I have not completed any endurance training this week, I would've hit the pool at the gym but it was crowded with people escaping the heat. It is usually empty other that 1 or 2 others.

Tonight I've got my wt training so I'll get that up.

    Day 16

    85* at 9pm!!!

Good news/bad news. The good news is that I am getting stronger along with improving the muscle endurance. I think next workout I will lower wt and go with 15 rep sets. The bad news is that I feel like I am getting bigger and fuller. This is not necessarily bad news but for my goals of maintaining while tri-training it can get tough if I get too bulky, especially in the swim. Obviously this is great news for the stack, I am not only maintaining strength/size with increased endurance training I am gaining as well. It would be nice to use this stack while not doing the tri-training, the results would be nice I imagine.

    Workout (working sets)
    Inc Bench 155x12/12/12
    Hammer Curls 40x12/12/12
    Mil Press 135x12/12/9
    Lat Pulldowns 137x12/12/12
    Tri pushdowns 70x12/12/12

Still no tri-training the past 4 days because of the extreme heat, but it should cool down by Monday . . . I hope. Either way I need to get it done so I will suck it up and get those workouts done.

This would be a nice stack for me to put on size and strength based on what I've experienced so far. I dont need to put on any size for the race obviously, but I do have 2 months more before my biggest race so it is not a problem that I am gaining a bit now. I am just surprised that I am gaining with the cardio/endurance training 6 days/week while wt training 2-3 days/wk.

    Day 18

wt is up a few lbs to 169. This may be attributed to my decrease in cardio training last week as temps have been in the 90-100* range, even night temps are 85. It hasnt even been below 78 overnight, gotta run the AC 24/7.

Swim workout at noon/run workout at 7pm

    200 yds warmup, breast stroke
    300 yds drills with fins
    4x25
    6x50
    4x25
    200 cool down

    1200 yds total

Second Workout today, a 30 minute run. It was 92* after the sun went down, so I struggled a bit.

    33 min for 3 miles, a nice 11 min/mi pace. This workout included pace surges for 30 sec to 90 sec. I mostly avg a 10 min/mi with surges at 7.5 min/mi

It has been quiet in here lately . . . since page 1!

The problem with this stack is I am still gaining size/strength while doing high amounts of endurance training, if that is a problem. I can def tell with the shoulders and sleeves of my shirts and a couple of pounds over the first 2 weeks. I know it could be greater gains if I were training with those goals.

Not sure if you caught up with all of the info, but I am mainly looking at retaining muscle as I increase my endurance training for triathlon season. So far the results have been too good as I am gaining some size.

As far as aggression and other indicators of the supps having an effect I really cannot comment since I am in a more relaxed frame of mind when I go to the gym. I am going hi-rep (12-15) so I dont have that intensity and focus that I have when I am bulking and trying to PR.

I would def like to use this stack in PCT in a few months as I add some real size after tri season.

Today I def noticed increased focus and intensity. It has been 6 days since my last wt workout, but it seems to be that you notice these effects is in weeks 3-4. That's why I try to run t-boosters for 8 weeks.

no run tonight, had a few beers at a bday party for a former player. He is now 30! I coached him when he was 10-13 yrs.

Tomorrow will be a 2fer: swim and either bike or run, depending on what time I can get it in. If it is getting dark I will do the run.

Tomorrow is also weigh in day. I'm curious about my wt after 3+weeks with wts and endurance training. My sterngth is solid and increasing along with muscle endurance. My main race is in Nov so I am not too concerned about any muscle bulk that I may have gained, I will def lean out and probably lose some muscle over the next few months.

Trust me, the first 2 years of tri-training were horrible in the water, just 1 25yd lap would kill me. I have worked on endurance and technique more this year so I am much more comfortable with the 100s. Next week my swim will include 10x100s, that'll kill me.

As far as muscle I feel like I may have gained a bit, that is great considering I am focusing on the endurance training and only doing wt training 2-3 days/week and I am going for hi-rep for endurance.

The big test will be the next 2 months as I really increase my tri-training. But I may be too big for my races at the moment so losing any muscle mass will be a benefit, but I truly dont want that to happen. My wetsuit may not fit my arms and shoulders right now, we'll see how it feels in late Sept.

wt is steady at 167, that was my starting wt.

today is a recovery day since I did a double workout yesterday. Tom.orrow is Back to School Night so I wont have time for a endurance session after vb tryouts. Dont worry, I plan on another double on Thurs: Run/swim in Long Beach CA with some friends. It'll be much cooler down by the beach

I'm not sure about my supp plan over Sept & Oct. It may do me better if I do lose a bit of muscle so I will probably go with staples such as creatine & beta alanine along with some others for endurance: COP, taurine, ornithine have been suggested. Also considering pure camp95 to support muscle maintenance.

After my last race in Nov I will get ready for a bulk with low-dose SD stacked with AMS Growth Kit possibly.

EMPTY BOTTLES I guess I am finished.

I am getting in a workout tonight and probably a bike ride for 20 miles. I'll update my lifts later.

Overall this stack worked out for my goals: maintain strength & size while increasing endurance training for triathlons.

    • My wt stayed the same over the 4 weeks, and my strength increased slightly because I had to increase rep range for all exercises.
    • I never experienced that alpha feeling at the gym mainly because of my routine and mindset was focused on hi-reps instead of pushing big wt.
    • I also never had issues with joints from the lowered estro from Erase Pro, once again that has to do with the training in hi-reps.
    • I do notice a very slight recomp effect mainly in the upper abs and chest, I am sure I could get better results if I worried about diet. Since I was doing 2 workouts many days and endurance training I was always hungry . . . even after a good meal.

I def want to try this stack in a lean bulk plan or as part of a PCT, I would really like to see how it affects my strength when that is my focus.

I am getting in a workout tonight and probably a bike ride for 20 miles. I'll update my lifts later.

Overall this stack worked out for my goals: maintain strength & size while increasing endurance training for triathlons.

[*]My wt stayed the same over the 4 weeks, and my strength increased slightly because I had to increase rep range for all exercises.[*]I never experienced that alpha feeling at the gym mainly because of my routine and mindset was focused on hi-reps instead of pushing big wt.[*]I also never had issues with joints from the lowered estro from Erase Pro, once again that has to do with the training in hi-reps.[*]I do notice a very slight recomp effect mainly in the upper abs and chest, I am sure I could get better results if I worried about diet. Since I was doing 2 workouts many days and endurance training I was always hungry . . . even after a good meal.

I def want to try this stack in a lean bulk plan or as part of a PCT, I would really like to see how it affects my strength when that is my focus.
Thanks for logging this for us. Did an awesome job as usual.
