I'm from Malden MA, relocated to Woburn MA. Either way, like 20mins outside Boston.
Surprisingly, not a big baseball fan - but going to red sox games is a good time.
Red Sox fans saw the curse in full effect in 1986. Bill Buckner. Whoa boy was that the curse in overdrive! The Red Sox had everything locked up and set for celebration in game 6 of the 1986 World Series against the Mets. Mookie Wilson hit a dribbler to Bill Buckner. It would have been an easy 3rd out. EASY. But it went under Buckner's legs. The Mets went on to win that game by some absolute miracle and then dominated game 7 to win the series.
The night of game 6 in the 1986 series, people were literally wandering the streets of Boston aimlessly in disbelief. People were wandering around in robes, pajamas, slippers, and mumbling to themselves. The shock to Sox fans was ... catastrophic.
As you might imagine, the win at the 2004 World Series, the 100th World Series IIRC, was incredible for Sox fans around the country. The parties that went down in beantown were outstanding.
I can only imagine what Chicago would be like if the Cubs finally won. They haven't won a World Series since 1908. It would be fitting to win it in 2008.
I myself would love to see the cubs win a world series also.....but not this year.....go sox baby :squat:
Personally though I think the American League Panent will go to someone from the Central division. Either the Tigers or the Indians.
I think the National League Penant will go to someone from the West; either Padres or Diamondbacks.
.... holy crap, I just looked. Didn't realize the Tigers and Indians were TIED for first.
Jeter must miss Sheffield
thats funny. but its sad that someone out there hates on NY that much to waste time to make that.
can't we all just get along and be mets fans?
seriously though, you won't find any state more evenly divided and heated about the *****ry than ct.
also the red sox would give the yankees wedgies and gank their lunch money.
