hope he does and reclaims his title!!!
I live in Texas.... Hit the name! And I train about once every two weeks at metroflex in Arlington. For the guys that don't know, that's the gym Ronnie came from and the one branch trains at. I've seen him in person lately and he is looking beastly!!!! I'll try to pop a couple pictures tomorrow when I go if he is training, just to show y'all. But I don't like to be that guy, he is super intense while training and ppl get the fudge out of his way.
He will also be guest posing in Europa Dallas in 10 days. The show I'm actually competing in. So I'll definitely get some pictures of him then!
Branch is awesome...can't wait to see the pics. Good luck in the show, you look ripped in the other threadOriginally Posted by BigTex08
For the past 3 years Branch sure has made some impressive improvements. Other than size he is the only Olympian with that grainy look. The look that Dorian Yates once had. It's one thing to be big and ripped but it's another thing to have that very hard grainy look. I think it is also great that Branch finally found a training partner in Johnnie Jackson with the same training philosophy and reliability. I know MetroFlex is a neighborhood gym and I too go to a similar style gym here in Brooklyn NY where you walk in and know every1, able to train alone and still ask for a spot. But it does help to always have a training partner with you who is ready to work, on time, and pushes you. A good reliable training partner is hard to find in my opinion
Ya I agree it is pretty hard to find a good training partner and with Branch training and looking the way he is he's going to do great! I would still like to see Jay win another Mr. O as much as I love Phil Heath I think jay is going to retire soon idk cause to me he just looks a little tired now haha so I think it would be dope for him to take it one more time before Phil starts his streak =P
UPDATE! August 27, 2012 -- Victor Martinez just announced on Muscular Development's FaceBook page that he will not be competing at this year's 2012 Mr. Olympia.
Personally I think he made the right choice after being in jail for 7 months. He should spend the entire year gaining all his mass back, do next years Arnold Classic and than prepare for the 2013 Olympia. He tried his best to get back on track for this years Olympia but time wasn't of the essence for him. I wonder if Jay Cutler will be announcing anything next.
Jay already announced he wasn't doing the olympia! Looks like it will be between Branch and Phil!Originally Posted by VS91588
Ohh wow I didn't hear about Jays announcement. Thanks for that update. Should be an interesting Olympia between Phil and Branch. We know what package Phil is bringing but I have a feeling Branch is going to surprise everyone this year. Branch is deff the underdog!Originally Posted by BigTex08
Idk man you just never know with these damn IFBB judges. Theres always contraversey with the judges. Flex Magazine's FaceBook page did a comparison photo of Phil Heath and Flex Wheeler since they both have similar conditioned bodies. We all know Flex never won an Olympia title and Phil did. The judges back than said Flex's physique wasn't worthy of a Mr.O title and now in this day and age they are saying Phil's physique is acceptable. If you look at the comparison photo you can clearly see that Flex's body was bigger and much conditioned than Phil's. So like I said its all about the judges opinion on what they are looking for.Originally Posted by Bsiggy1
I saw branch a week ago at my contest here in Texas. He guest posed and I got to pump up with him back stage. He is looking bigger than ever! But Phil is stupid symmetrical!Originally Posted by VS91588
Yeah I seen some recent photos of him hes looking big but one advantage is how hard and grainy he looks. I personally am not a fan of how he trains but he is the man; I don't judge his style. I hate those dudes who believe in like 1 standard way of working out whether its the style or equipment used (freeweights/machines/bands). I love the intensity and focus he has which is why I watch his videos.Originally Posted by BigTex08
You should see it in person... It's almost scary! LolOriginally Posted by VS91588
He looks like a bad motherfu**er! LoL And at the show it will be even perfect with the condition and carb loading phase and also where they put site injection oil to bring up the lagging parts or to make one side of the body equal to the other side. He's deff a contender and no one should be sleeping on himOriginally Posted by BigTex08
Everyone's talking about Phil and branch but kai greene has just as much of a chance as they do
That's what I thought... But he always fails to get into his peak form and conditioning... That's what lets him down.. Hopefully this time it will be different..Originally Posted by bigkangaroo
Kai took a whole year off from competitions to prep for this O. If Jay is out it means he will be one of the reigning mass monsters onstage and could stand a shot. I think no one is more deserving than Kai honestly but I think it'll boil down to
