I think so too. There are surprisingly quite a few great sources of vegetable protein: Lentils, Quinoa, Peas, and the list goes on.

Yeah, but look at the amino acid profile in plant vs animal protein

Good point. I definitely don't think that it's ideal. Although, there is an internet fitness guy, Mike Mahler that seems to do pretty well on a vegan diet.

It certainly can be done if you mix and match protein sources to achieve the full amino acid profile found in animal protein. Like you, I just do not think it's ideal

If anyone's still interested in the topic - it's actually been proven that if eating a balanced source of plant protein from sources that are still very fresh/alive (ie: fresh, sprouted grains), it is more biologically available (and healthier, non-acidic, alkaline) . It's fairly difficult to eat this way though and to get enough protein in, but possible.
