Visited my TRT doc yesterday. I've been on a pharmacy compounded gel for about 2.5 years. We've increased the dose over time and was recently applying 2gm of 1% cream per day. The latest lab work shows that my testosterone was off the chart. DHT was also elevated and estradiol slightly high.
Because we're having a hard time getting the dose right to elevate symptoms while not going supra-physiological, the doc is transitioning me to sub-q injections (50mg 2x per week) along with HCG at 500mg 2x per week.
My new medication should arrive in about a week. My question is, how should I transition. Do I just stop the gel right after the first injection, or does the esterified testosterone need some time to start working?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
