do what you feel. if you don't feel like lifting, don't. if you're run down, don't lift because the odds are your w/o will be counterproductive. that's your body telling you it needs rest.
don't overanalyze. don't over- anything. just do.

The best tip I ever got was to contract the muscle you're working at the height of the extension/contraction with every rep. It makes it harder, but improves your focus lots. Worked really really well for me.

I disagree with this....some of the best workouts I have ever had were on days where I ALMOST did not go to the gym.

Feeling slightly run down, I went anyway then started pushing weight which reminded me of what it feels like to be alive. Halfway through the workout, I am in full force.

Totally agree. Some of my best workouts was when I was dreading hitting the gym. Not really looking forward to it, but I knew that even if I don't have a blowout workout, that it is most likely more productive than sitting on the couch.

Usually when those days come around, I have some of the most intense workouts.

When I first started lifting some massive guy in my gym was always drinking coffee while lifting. At that time I was stupid and didn't know what I was doing so I went up to him and said " isn't coffee bad for you?", he simply laughed at me proceeded on dead lifting 700lbs. So I started sipping coffing and it really helps keep me motivated. When I lift mental alertness is must for me, I like to be completely focused on what ever I am doing.

And now that I think back that dude was an ******* to not answer me. If I see him again its on!

to each his own; i've taken stimulants on days when i haven't felt like lifting and lifted anyway, but for me I've found that it's best to just rest if I feel run down b/c otherwise I risk taxing my CNS too heavily. sometimes i'll just go intentionally light for that purpose. other times i choose to relax.

People should compare there progress, by looking at what there doing now vs. what they were doing now.

I see a lotta small people trying to do what the bigger guys are doing which just sets them up for failure, same goes for big guys just being satisfied by comparing themselves to everyone else in the gym. Do it for yourself.

I know this is off topic but I can't stand people who dress up to go work out. Some guys at my gym where timberland boots with camo pants and dog tags around there neck. If that doesn't piss you off then seeing them stare at them selves constantly in the mirror will. ****in self-masterbation.
