Well, I went to see my HMO endo specialist Friday I had to pay a 40 dollar co-payment. I was sitting on the exam room when she came in. She was a slender Asian doctor. I started out by telling her my low t symptoms, and explaining that my last t test my reading was 212. She says that testosterone levels will fluctuate durning the day!!! Not from what I ever read!! My test was taken after a 12 hour fast!

It went downhill from there. She would not listen to anything I had to say. It seemed to me that she thought I was a meathead bodybuilder, just looking for a steroid fix. I was starting to get pissed with her, do I just said thanks for your time and just left the ****ing office. It was a waste of my time, a waste of my money. And it pretty much ruined my day.

So know I will have to pay out of my pocket when I find the right trt doctor.

Anybody know a good trt doctor on orange country ca???

Yeah testosterone levels do fluctuate throughout the day, and are highest in the morning. Definitely find another doctor though, no reason to put up with some b-tch who won't work with you to find the best solution toward your well being. Personally I would never go to a female doctor for male problems. Go to the anti-aging section of this forum and talk to Matrix.

They continually fluctuate, but it doesn't matter, she did not do her job and just based an opinion of you and decided not to move forward. Find another doctor, preferably a male, and be patient. Unless you want to shell out $1k a month for some whack anti-aging clinic, this isn't a fast process and it shouldn't be.

I found the best way to find a TRT DR is to Google Compounding Pharmacy in your area..get their number and call them or e-mail them and ask if they would recommend a TRT Dr in the area..I did it and found a Dr that is great..I noticed quite a few in Santa Ana..Huntinton Beach..Costa Mesa..Irvine..what I did was got the Dr..but didnt use the Compounding Pharm.because they dont take insurance..so I get the scrips and send them into my pharmacy..

I would try a urologist in your HMO network. That is what a lot of guys around here use.

Pretty sure this is a troll post, FYI. Either that or this person means 85 year-old Physicians Assistant when he says Endo.

Test levels do fluctuate, but if I recall correctly you might expect up to a 15-20% (edit: 20-25%; see correct value below) difference between peak levels in the AM and the afternoon. Even if those numbers are not quite correct, it's definitely not enough fluctuation for a 212 not to at least make the Endo say "okay, did you get FSH, LH, Prolactin? And, if not, we'll start with those labs and go from there."

EDIT:

The effect of diurnal variation on clinical measurement of serum testosterone and other sex hormone levels in men.

Abstract

CONTEXT:

Although diurnal variation of testosterone and other hormones in men has been well documented, the effect of this variation on sampling during typical clinic hours has not been examined.
OBJECTIVE:

Our objective was to examine temporal variation in serum testosterone and five other hormones in men over normal clinic hours.
DESIGN:

Blood samples were collected at six separate visits, three morning visits 1-3 d apart and three afternoon visits 1-3 d apart.
SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS:

In Boston, MA, 66 men participated, 30-80 yr of age, randomly selected from the Boston Area Community Health Survey who completed at least five visits.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:

The age-specific ratio of hormone level at times ranging from 0801-1600 h to hormone level at 0800 h was calculated. Ratios were calculated from parameter estimates obtained from cosinor models.
RESULTS:

In men 30-40 yr old, testosterone levels were 20-25% lower at 1600 h than at 0800 h. The difference declined with age, with a 10% difference at 70 yr. 17 men with at least one of three measurements less than 300 ng/dl (10.4 nmol/liter) after 1200 h had normal testosterone levels at all three visits before 1200 h (five of eight men 30-47 yr old, four of nine men 66-80 yr old). Much lower levels of diurnal variation were found for dihydrotestosterone, SHBG, LH, FSH, and estradiol at all ages.
CONCLUSIONS:

Our results support the recommendation of restricting testosterone measurements to morning hours in both young and older men. Limited diurnal variation in other hormones indicates that sampling through the day is appropriate
