Ingredient Profile
HydroMax 65% Glycerol
Overview:
• Glycerol (1,2,3-propanetriol) is a colorless, odorless, sweet tasting sugar alcohol. When consumed glycerol is rapidly absorbed primarily in the small intestine, distributed equally among all fluid compartments, and promotes hyper-hydration by inducing an osmotic gradient. This brings potential benefits for endurance and stamina events, including adaptation to environmental heat/humidity stress, along with promoting blood flow associated with resistance training. Glycerol has also been shown to help athletes store extra water, delaying the need for hydration. This suggests improved efficiency in exercise, thermoregulation and decreased physiological stress. In addition, glycerol enhances plasma and intramuscular volume expansion, producing a more engorged muscular appearance.
Potential Benefits:
• Enhances plasma and intramuscular volume expansion
• Produces a more engorged muscle appearance
• Increase exercise performance and time to exhaustion
• Can decrease heart rate
• Can decrease core temperature
• May offset dehydration
MaxNOx(Potassium Nitrate)
Overview:
• Potassium Nitrate, KNO3, is a compound formed from the combination on nitrate ions and ionic salt of potassium ions. Unlike other nitrates, potassium nitrate contains a higher percentage of nitrates in each molecule…61% nitrate and 39% potassium. Nitrate consumption in the form of a salt (potassium in this case), either through supplement or whole food form, has been shown to reduce whole body oxygen cost during physical exercise and promote vasodilation of blood vessels. This is due to nitrates being reduced to nitrites by anaerobic bacteria which in turn increases plasma nitrite concentrations (nitric oxide production) and hence vasodilation.
Potential Benefits:
• Potent vasodilator
• Enhances blood flow to muscles
• Improves vascularity
• Reduces oxygen cost of exercise
• May lower blood pressure (via vasodilation)
GSNO (S-Nitrosogluthione)
Overview:
• S-Nitrosoglutathione (GSNO) is an amino acid nitric oxide donor, when under certain physiological conditions spontaneously releases nitric oxide, a potent blood vessel vasodilator.
Potential Benefits:
• Promotes vasodilation of blood vessels via nitric oxide production
• May offer some cardio-protective effects
VasoMax Pump and Focus
Alpha-GPC (L-Alpha glycerylphosphorylcholine)
Overview:
• Alpha-GPC is a derivative of high phosphatidylcholine soy lecithin and is made up of three main components; glycerol, phosphate, and choline. When Alpha-GPC is ingested it provides a very rapid supply of choline to the bloodstream and for neuron uptake. Choline than undergoes acetylation which results in the formation of acetylcholine, one of the most important neurotransmitters in the central nervous system. When choline becomes a limiting factor in the formation of acetylcholine, which occurs during intense exercise & stress, acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction can diminish - thus severely affecting peak mental & physical performance.
Potential Benefits:
• Stimulates all cognitive functions: Memory, learning, name & number recall, focus & attention.
• Aids in fighting age related memory diminishment.
• Helps improve reaction time.
• Aids recovery from concussion & brain injury - e.g. from combative sports.
• Naturally increases human growth hormone (HGH), the body’s “Master Hormone”.
• May help lower body fat.
• Helps to build lean muscle mass & strength.
• Maximizes neuromuscular innervation - leading to explosive muscular power output & jump height & distance improvements.
• Supports membrane phospholipid synthesis in brain & motor units - where muscle fibers are innervated.
Selaginella Tamariscina (whole plant) Extract (20% Amentoflavone)
Overview:
• Amentoflavone is a plant alkaloid that is found in such plants as Gingko biloba and St. John’s Wort. This substance is known as a mood enhancer, and its ability to activate the GABA-A receptor in the brain can give a strong sense of alertness and focus. Additionally, amentoflavone can also increase serotonin production in the body. Athletes use amentoflavone during their workouts because of its potent vasodilator abilities. This causes greater blood flow and strength of muscle contractions, giving the user a nice pump during their workout. The scientific explanation to why amentoflavone increases pumps so well – it is a very effective nitric oxide pump enhancer because it inhibits PDE, while blocking the metabolism of cAMP and cGMP.
Potential Benefits:
• Promotes blood vessel vasodilation
• May enhance muscular contractions
• May increase strength
• Can help fight against anxiety and depression
• May inhibit fatty acid synthesis
• May promote lipolysis
Rutaecarpine 98%
Overview:
• Rutaecarpine is an extract of Evodia rutaecarpa. Traditionally it has been used as a thermogenic and as an antinocioreceptive (pain reliever). However, new research has shown rutaecarpine to have vaso-relaxation effects. Unlike other ingredients that increase vasodilation through nitric oxide production; rutaecarpine promotes blood vessel dilation by altering calcium levels in the cells that form blood vessels.
Potential Benefits:
• Increases blood vessel dilation
• Possible anti-cancer agent
• Possible pain reliever
• May improve cerebral function
• Possible anti-inflammatory
• May reduce blood pressure (via vasodilation)
• Potential thermogenic
Huperzine-A (Huperzia Serrata 1% Extract)
Overview:
• Huperizine A, an extract of chinese club moss, is a selective inhibitor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholinesterase (AChE), which means it prevents the breakdown and increases the amount of acetylcholine; an important neurotransmitter in the central nervous system involved in cognition and muscular contractions. Multiple studies have shown that supplementation with Huperzine-A can enhance focus, memeory and mood. Huperzine-A has a synergistic effect on the nervous system and muscles when combined with Alpha-GPC. While huperzine-A prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine, Alpha-GPC increases it.
Potential Benefits:
• Increases focus
• Improves cognition
• Enhances mood
• Increase muscular strength and endurance
• Anti-Inflammatory
Vitamin C
Overview:
• Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water soluble essential vitamin and powerful anti-oxidant. Additionally, Vitamin C can provide neuroprotective effects and help preserve testosterone levels. What is lesser known is that vitamin C can increase blood flow via reducing the oxidation of nitric oxide.
Potential Benefits:
• Increase blood flow
• May reduce cortisol levels
• May reduce biomarkers of muscle damage
• Anti-oxidant properties
• Modulates cortisol levels
• Neuroprotective effects
• Can preserve testosterone levels
