:goodpost: I was just about to bring up the sodium factor if no one else did. There is over 2000mg of sodium in just one gallon. That can make you look a little soft if you have been running lower sodium prior.
Yup. Skim milk GI = 32 :dance:Even though milk does have alot of sugar....I alwasy though that milk had a fairly low G.I?? Am I wrong?? I only drink dairy two times a day anyway....maximum 3. Someone clear this up??
Thanks BpMartyr. :woohoo:Yup. Skim milk GI = 32
Dave, that seems to be the general concensus, although I "sort of" disagree. As long as you're not pigging down the milk and including it in your diet plan, not just "adding" it in, you can use milk during any cycle. My opinion on whole - just flat out too much fat...a damn shame b/c I love it. I also really love 2%, but usually try to stick to skim just to avoid proving myself wrong and getting a little too "bulky". At times in my life...not recently...I've used milk in itself as a snack. Go to the local quik-mart, pick up a quart of skim milk. No fat, 32g protein, 48g carbs. Not shabby if you ask me...and if you have the stomach to drink an entire quart of milk in a sitting. So the general concensus seems to be that it is great for bulking, but gives more of a "bulky" look...what's your opinions on 2%/Whole?
Maybe it's just my body type then...I have relied solely on water and milk since January. I've put up 17lbs since January 8th with virtually 0 noticeable fat gains. I don't know if I could bulk without milk  :think:Dave, that seems to be the general concensus, although I "sort of" disagree. Another positive I've found about milk....works wonders for me to get over a hangover (of course as long as you're not hungover to the point where you really can't stomach anything lol).

Thanks man...it's been a fun bulk. A lot of it was muscle memory, diet, supplements, etc..I was coming off a serious knee injury that happened in September and I'll be finishing up physical therapy hopefully in 3-4 months. Tore my ACL and all the tendons off the fibula, my knee-cap almost cut through my artery which would have led to amputation..so I learned to be grateful for a lot more in lifeThat sounds like some really great and solid progress bro...congrats. Consider yourself lucky man...as you can probably tell, I'm an advocate of milk lol, especially for putting on some quality muscle and lbs. My body type probalby leans more towards yours, b/c although I try to avoid whole milk, I do frequently go with 2% just b/c of the taste. The milk in my diet is the least of my problems, I have used it with much success. My problems lie in driving past Quiznos, taco bell, arby's, Long John Silvers, and a few chinese takeout places on my way home from work lol! And all of those are no more than two miles from my place...so thats where my concerns and focus lies, with much reason obviously. But enough ranting, IMO Milk is great, bulking, cutting, maintenance, whatever. Just gotta know your body.
haha...I feel you man. This --> izza: is always tempting. It all comes down to discipline though bro. Thanks man...it's been a fun bulk. Yes those stores = :smite: :smite: , but stopping by Wendy's for 4 or 5 Jr. Cheeseburgers never killed anyone anyway :trout:
Oh yeah! Slam em down while wearing socks & sandals at a PETA rally.I didn't know people even used "soy beverages" ?

I hope no one misinterpreted what I said.
Skim milk is great, but like most things, moderation is key. I drink a glass or two a day, its the idea of drinking gallon + that is ridiculous.
And its great for shakes too.
Well I can only really speak for what has been working for me personally. For most people it very well may be rediculous, but..
I am only 21 guys, I probably wouldn't be able to get away with drinking that much if I was older. Plus, I think the fat that skim milk has a low G.I. and the fact that I lift 5x a week PLUS attend Rugby practice keeps my milk consumption from turning me into Chris Farley.
In the end everyone should just do what works best for them, and avoid what doesn't
Huh?Milk = sugar = you're gonna look fat... Sorry, but it's the truth.
