Picked up an unpleasant looking scar in an unpleasant area. Really stupid accident.

I know most plastic surgeons suggest silicone based creams/gels so I went out and picked up some scar guard.

Anyone ever deal with fading a scar? Any suggestions?

Cut myself pretty severely shaving and slightly slipping in the shower.

I also have a few burns on my arm from working in a restaurant/kitchen. These I dont mind as much, but I wouldn't mind knowing about working with burns as well.

Been reading up on castor oil.

If you still have a scar im guessing it may have been a borderline second degree burn(between outer and inner dermis)? Those usually "fade" with time but ive never heard of any product to excelerate the healing. Ive actually had a 3rd degree burn on my foot which required a skin graft~~that will always be there

Most of the scars fade. A 500 degree pizza oven, and 900 degree brick oven are no joke though.

Flawless scar cream. It works well. Others use silver nitrate for burns. Or bepanthenol (dexpanthenol)

Is look into all 3

Silver nitrate is usually administered right after the incident stop infection but its not going to much for burn that he's had for awhile. Flawless cream is sold here at NP but I dont think it will make miraculous changes

I have one facial scar across my cheek which I was given topicals to try to get it to fade, none worked. Its faded now but still visible. Just embrace it :D

I also have a massive scar on my right shin from a snowboarding accident, it may never fade because of its size

Saw that derma rollers are popular, but I need to read up.

In the end, I don't even think this cut will scar much. Def a topic I was interested in though. There's money in skin care.

Bio Oil is good stuff for scars. As with anything though, takes months to see effects.

Apply lemon juice to the scar. Raw honey can also be used to fade scars. loe vera's anti-inflammatory properties help reduce skin irritations and help remove dead skin from wounds.

my buddies dad is a chiropractor and gave me a homemade creme he calls boo boo creme, it really helped with my scar that runs from my forehead to between my eyes....stupid gym owner doesn't check his cables

either way i believe the creme is made up of vitamin e liquid, something like a neosporene (sp?), and cocoa butter....i'm sure theres other things as well but he won't tell anyone....if it's like mine, keep it moisturized, it's the only part of my face that really dry's out super quickly

haha it wasn't the cable that hit me, the cable snapped doing a cable curl and the bar flew up and smashed me in the face
Oh damn still ouch!!

I saw a young kid (17) in the gym the other day curling like crazy, EZ-Bar straight to the forehead blood everywhere. Ouch!

If the wound is fresh, Gotu Kola supposedly helps to minimize scarring as it heals.
