I hate to say this, but I think we may never see Rampage fight again. This sh!t will linger for a while and the financial burden upon him may be too great for him to bear on top of his family responsibilities. It really is sad because he was really hitting his stride as a true MMAist and had the potential to be champ/top contender for a long time.

This truly sucks. Rage to riches, riches to rags.

Indeed. I was upset when I heard about it on the news this morning. I seriously doubt there won't be a lawsuit filed. On the radio this morning, they said that the woman had already hired a lawyer.
It'll be too bad if Rampage gets washed out because of this. He had some potential and had a big fan backing.

A lawsuit would be nothing... That's just money. I'm no expert, but this can potentially lead to manslaughter charges... Right?

Dammit, 'Page..

I don't know. I know he already has some pretty hefty stuff to do with already. Maybe involuntary manslaughter... idk though. I'm not a cop or a legal expert. I don't see him just walking back into the ring though.
Any pro MMA fighters that have already been in jail out there that I haven't heard of? If Rampage goes to jail, I'm sure that will be a breach of contract too. And he'll have to pay some money back.
Looks like he's digging himself a hole

He won't fight for a long time, I'm sure. The UFC couldn't put him in a fight until it's all out of the way, or it would be a PR nightmare. He may fight again but not for a few years and never as a top contender IMO.

I agree. He has buried his career. It'll take a miracle to come out on top of this situation.

I'm not aware of the specifics, but it would be along the lines of, within period of legal abortion, not manslaughter, post alloted period of legal abortion, manslaughter. However, I believe I read "12 weeks along" and that seems like the baby might have made the "we recognize you as a person" marker.

I think he should use his personalty and be a UFC commentator in the future (assuming he keeps his humorous nature after all this). Rampage's personality was a bigger reason for me liking him then his fighting. Rampage for the entertainment, Rogan for the knowledge.

Rampage is/was one of my favorite fighters, but all this pity for him is getting out of control. Dude went apeshit, starting claiming he was god, then went on a destruction derby is his bigass camo truck that has an 8 foot picture of himself on it. How incredibly stupid. Then he hits a pregnant pedestrian and she has a miscarraige (allegedly) as the result. He is a funny guy and a hell of a fighter, but there is no excuse for the stupid **** he did that day.

Does anybody remember when Rampage had his "religious awakening" about 4 yrs ago? Dude went from being his regular funny self to a guy who wouldnt curse, or much less even smile. He was kind of like a vegetable for a while until he came to the UFC, achieved fame in the US, and suddenly he forgot about all the religious **** and he acted like himself again. Dude clearly has issues, and when you tie that in with extreme religiousness it is a recipe for disaster.

Couldn't agree with you more. Especially the last sentence.

I alway wondered why people fall for that religeous brainwashing and give up their own ability to think freely.
When they get brainwashed like that you can't talk any sense into them.

Yeah, I have no pity for him making such a dumbass decision, I am just sad to see him fall so quickly. This is worse than Bobby Hoffman, but not as awesome as Lee Murray.

Tough crowd! Wow! Page had a mental and emotional breakdown. I'm not so sure this a conscious well thought out "decision." Considering he has a history of "erratic behavior" I wouldn't be so quick to judge him based on this symptomatic display. Mental health issues are nothing to just dismiss to bad judgement.

Rampage Hanging with Dana Pre-GSP fight!

Rampage been hanging alot with Dana White pre-GSP/Fitch...hanging with fans, joking around, almost kissing babies (pretty weird) Check out Dana's pre-fight blog on you-tube.
Probably a combination of keeping his eye on his investment, Rampage public relations, maintaning Rampage's confidence & sanity this tough time, helping him cope.

Oh, and its not easy to blame bad judgement on mental problems?!!! I'm not into that, unless he is diagnosed bipolar and schizophrenic, then its his ****ing fault. I'm sick of this liberal bullsh*t. I love Rampage, but he most likely caused a miscarriage, thats nothing to brush aside. One:thumbsup:

Yeah, its all about the money for Dana. 90% of his motives were based on his investment, thats being generous.

p.s. I had to read your post 3 times before I could understand it. Are you from America? Anyways, take care:thumbsup:

I'm from the greatest country in the world! (socialist country that is) CANADA. Toronto!

I watched an old Fedor interview by Sherdog where he was asked why he turned down the UFC contract. Fedor stated that it was not acceptable because the UFC could Terminate the contract at anytimeamong many other things. (there were also other reasons why it was not acceptable to him)

I believe that many of the UFC fights are hugely more entertaining than many other MMA organization fights because the fighters know that they must put on a good show or they may be finished in the UFC. Yes it's all about the money...it is a business after all. Any one else notice this about many of the UFC fights, the fighters fight with more of a sense of Urgency?

Its already been over a year since Pride went under and it still stings. I miss their theatrics and opening ceremonies.

I die a little whenever I watch Mirco's old highlight vids....

Republic of Georgia beat Russia in Judo, at the Olympics. This is somewhat relevant to the MMA forum, eh?

Mirko's HL with Lux Aeterna is what really got me into Pride and to start training MMA.

It looks like the miscarriage was unrelated. He's not being charged with anything along those lines, and I believe the woman's doctor said that they were unrelated.
