when I take a pump preworkout (not talking about stimulant) usually I take it without food or shake and some 20 minutes later take a protein shake before heading to the gym. Do you think it make a difference taking it at the same time than a protein shake or a light food?

If the food has carbs it can help your pump. It doesn’t make a difference in term of efficacy of the non stim product though

I was wondering if any food or shake at the same time than compounds like citruline would blunt its effect.

Some people say it does. I think it if it does, it would be by a trivial amount.

I would avoid taking a preworkout around a food intake window. In my personal experience, it does seem to blunt the effects, especially if it's got stimulants in it.

I’ve noticed the blunting effect of food on stimulants myself. my question was more in relation to members experience specially for pump supplements like citrulline since it is an AA Nd alike.

Same here. I always try to take my pre on an empty stomach as well. Only downside is I'm working out on an empty stomach :/
