Going to look at you guys logs in a few. I know I haven't been crazy on updates here but I here are some highlights from the last two workouts.

Saturday - Lower rep lower body

Curls 115x8 - my biceps tendon on my right arm is tight so this started hurting it. Going to lower weight and slow reps down here work on stretching the tendon. It is a tiny bit tighter just from the 2 shoulder surgeries I have had.
Calves - Who cares my calves are big just went through the motions to get blood in them...
Romanian Dead lifts - 415x8 with tons of gas in the tank for extra reps on Saturday. That is up 10 lbs and far easier to lift.
Leg ext 250x8
Leg Press 900x8, Widow Maker - 810x20

Tuesday - High Rep Upper Body
3 sets per 15-20 reps 1st set a little lighter, short rest periods.

Cable Crossovers
80 per side x 20, x 18
HS Incline Bench 80 per side x20, x15

Straight Arm Pull Down - 75x20, 75x20
Wide Grip Lat Pull - 120x20, 120x17

DB Lateral Raise 25x20, 25x19
DB Front Raise 25x20, 25x13

Wide Grip Rows - I can't remember
Read Delt Fly Machine 110x20, 110x15

Overhead Rope Triceps Ext. 80x20, 80x18
Close Grip Dips bodyweight x20, x15 wow I really beat the tar out of every pushing muscle in my upper body. Fresh I can do more than 50 dips without blinking... Triceps are indeed sore today which is nice.

Okay so a little bit of info regarding a conversation I had with a competitive body builder Saturday. I have known him for years and years like early 90's... He has won multiple national level competitions and I just wanted to ask him to give me an honest critique of my physique. I basically asked point blank if I should not be worrying about bodybuilding and go into a Physique contest instead. Then let him know what the judges said at my first show regarding arms, shoulders and legs needing to come up. Now granted I was flat on the day of the show but it got into my head.

Well he told me that I was extremely proportionate and in his eyes there was no reason if I came into a contest in great condition that I couldn't do very well in my weight class. He has done several preps for others and really knows his stuff. He gave me a lot of insight and offered to help me with anything I need to get myself ready for a show. Diet, posing, peak week, all of it he would love to help me out. So I will be doing a show for sure. Not sure if it will be early next year or in the summer but it is on for sure! The first NPC show of the year around here is the Texas Shredder so If I plan to go early that will be the one. Otherwise I will be looking at a few other options in early to mid summer.

Okay here is this mornings workout.

Workout was great biceps tendon was a little tender so adjustments were made. Also I was going to attempt to go up on my widow maker today even though I kind of knew I shouldn't since I tweaked my back a little. Well It didn't feel good so I racked the 285 at 8 reps, stripped it down to 225 quickly then did my widow maker with that. Feeling good, can't wait to eat my fast breaker.

How big were your arms in that vid kleen? and where are they now?
That video right at 16, and right now about 17.25 but I am not as lean. I am hoping to hold at least 16.5-16.75 for the show. Admittedly with my diuretic stripping all the water out of my body over night before the contest and me dropping down 7lbs from 178 to 171 my arms were probably down 15.25-15.5 by prejudging. So being told I needed more size should not have been a surprise. My wife told me I went to bed looking like a beast and woke up looking like a physique model. My buddy was like Oh my gosh where did all of you go you were way bigger 2 days ago.

I think this is the package I should have rolled into the show displaying. I was 183 in this video one week after the show. There is one point in here I do a rear double biceps and my back looks completely ridiculous with all the striations and definition. Plus at 183 I had thickness still.

I will be posting up older pics and vids in here to keep my eye on the prize. I want to get to where I can hover around 6% for a while to make sure my skin is nice and tight before the show. Once I dip under 200, and get close to 7% I will get an idea of where I am and decide if I can push a little attempt at recomp from there or just continue on down. That really depends on what show I decide to do.

Thanks Luke! I am hoping so, I look back at my pics and try to compare and I think at 203-205 I look I did around 193-195 when I started that prep. So that would put me up about 10 lbs. If I can look like that without sacrificing too much size well wow. Heck if i can look exactly like that i won't have to many issues.

I have been pretty good with my diet again for the past little bit and am back down around 205 looking much better than when I was eating bulking cals. Today is not going to be a good diet day for me. My bosses birthday we are having lasagna for lunch and then some cake. Tonight our good friend is coming down to Houston to celebrate her birthday so we are going to Gringos to have some mexican food and a beer-rita!!!! Yeah a beer-rita is about 1200 cals of yumminess. Should be good and ready for the heavy upper body lift on Saturday with all the carbs I will have tonight.

Yesterday being a lift day I had up to 300 grams of carbs to get down but my Nana made homeade pecan pie and I have been holding the piece until I lifted so yesterday I only took in about 100grams of carbs during the day and kept my fat around 40g until I ate that pecan pie and DAMN IT WAS GOOD!

A little update sorry I havent been on. I am still leaning up I am about 202 and looking pretty sharp. Although I have a thick matt of fur. I would say I am about in the same shape as my other pics and a good carb up and water games could get me in that shape. Strength has plateaued but at least it isn't going down. I am not doing anything severe regarding diet. Just watching my intake. I haven't gotten serious into a cut or anything just losing the extra fat slow and steady.

I am getting ready to break my fast then I will hit the gym in about 2 hours after that for a high rep leg workout. I will take a few pics of my last several workouts after that one and post them up.

Snags! Glad to see you out and about in the forum. Your log was amazing but I missed your input on others. Yeah that song was off the CD before this last one. Many didn't even entertain the CD because it was a different sound. I saw them live performing these and it was awesome!!!! I love that Mike Shinoda came back after his project with Fort Minor. This new cd that is out now is great all the way through in my opinion it is what we thought they should have been putting out when he was gone.

Welcome back... I love weekends, i carb deplete during the week and hit my big lift days on Saturday and Sunday... I blow up like a baloon during my Saturday workout, its pretty funny...

You know me Brotha, just curious, not calling you out! I'm a little pudgy from my trip to New Orleans (extremely good comfort food ya know), anyway gained a total of 16Lbs in 5 days and I'm already down 9 of those Lbs, mainly water bloat, very salty foods! I'll be preparing for Halloween like I always do :sgrin:, this time I promised my self I would get sub 8%. Still can't figure out what I wanna be though, my good buddy is already going as Bain and he is a better Bain that I could be considering he is already bald, 6ft tall and weighs around 260 at 11% BF.

I say he's under 10%... Over 7%! And if you want more specific... I say he is between 9.7% - 8.7%! But that is just a guess, I have not spoken to him about his BF% lately and I just remember seeing something somewhere recently that he can see his abs again.

Normally, I would say you were on, but I just exhausted the Fug out of most of my funds making an emergency trip home to N.O.L.A. from ATL, GA... in short, I's Broke Yo!!! Oh and missed a whole week of work and this next 2 wk pay period is gonna suck hard 1/2 of the norm, so I spent money and lost my earned wages, double Whammy!!!

Okay guys, sorry for not updating this thing in a while. I leaned back up pretty well and have also packed on a little size. I just changed my workout over to one of my own creations. I tend to prefer them to others things and this one is no different. It is what I call a top to bottom push / pull split. Basically all the push muscles from top to bottom in one workout Chest/shoulder/triceps/quads & Back width/ Back Thickness/Biceps/Hamstrings. Some of you have seen me do this in the past, however this time I incorporated some drop sets to make it a little more like my Warrior / Kleen Machine workout. I do one compound move for 3 escalating weight sets and then 2 drop sets on the main, then move to an isolation move for the target muscle with one work set that has two drops. I have 2 different workouts for each push and pull one is an 8-10 rep work out and one is a 12-15 rep workout. Rest periods are 30-40 seconds for the most part and 1 minute on things the wife and I are sharing a machine. We try to use seperate machines or benches in order to keep the pace extremely fast. It is working really well for me.

These are my most recent pics from about 3 weeks ago I don't know exactly what my weight was there but I weighed in after carbing up some this weekend at 212 so I would estimate I am about 208 in normal condition right now and look the same as far as definition goes.


Well damn, not sure they showed up tried to attach them. I guess we will see when I post the pics up.

lol that is lean for 212 though, damn the size of this guy.... I have sort of made a decision to make what I have better rather than go for size. I will bet a tad bigger on my next run in January. At my age I haft to think do I really want a lot of extra size, anywho still improving that's all I can do...

2-0-1 tempo and 30 second rest periods

Incline DB Bench 50x15, 75x15, 85x5>70x5>50x5
Pec Deck - 135x15>105x6> 75x8

HMMM... I am kind of already working on transforming but might entertain the idea of something then depending on what I have left to do. Starting pretty close to the goal is not conducive to winning a transformation contest. LOL Not sure where I will be in 4 weeks.

So what my diet is looking like right now is a mild experiment in combination eating patterns. I am sticking with my normal macros and still doing intermittent fasting but a little differently.

On my build days I am eating after my fasted training to take advantage of some extra anabolism there and splitting my normal build day calories and macros across the rest of the day in 2 meals and a snack or just 3 meals depending on time frames and how much I have already consumed. I am taking in predominantly protein and carbs in the morning / early afternoon then lowering carbs and taking in predominantly protein and fats in the afternoon / evening.

A sample day would look like this - Pre workout 2 scoops of Scivation
Post workout window - 2 scoops of Extend, 2 scoops of HumaPro, 30 grams whey isolate and 45 grams of maltodextrine immediately following the workout. 1 hour later 3 scoops Whey Isolate and 1 cup of old fashioned oats. Totals about 125 grams protein, 100 grams carbs and 10 grams fat for a total of 990 calories post workout.

Lunch- 8-12 oz Lean meats normally chicken breast, fish or lean cut sirloin - 70-80 grams of carbs in the form of rice, potato, fruits and 1-2 cups veggies Totals average in the 56-78 grams protein, 70-80 grams carbs, 10-20 fat 594-812

Then I either have a shake mid afternoon 2-3 scoop protein, 1 cup frozen blueberries and then finish off my macros with dinner, or have a big dinner like 16 0z lean meat, and or less and finish off my macros with a shake for dessert.

Basically the goal is 2800-2900 cals 300 grams protein, 175-225 carbs and about 90 grams fats.

These are bulking numbers right? Please don't tell me you get to cut with 2800-2900 calories?!?!

Pretty sure those are cutting numbers. I'm a bit smaller than Kleen and I'm dropping about 1.5s a week at that calorie lvl

I would be cutting (fairly slowly) at those mumbers.. 3000 is about maintenance for me at my activity level... I am very organized though...

yes, i would hope so??
these are solid #s for cutting, at that size + decent activity levels.
nothing out of the ordinary here..
but - to conceptualize it better, combining these cals with appropriate macros would perhaps better reflect the popular word "recomp".

I'm sure he is still cutting with that figure, but remember that these are workout day cals. I'm sure his cardio/rest day cals are much lower and probably 2k or just under
