Also training my brother in law right now to teach him a few things about strength training before he heads over to Iraq…. I couldn’t convince him that he doesn’t need to practice pushups for his tests, and that my training would be fine. So I decided to show him that even though I have not done them for 10 years I could do them fine. So after whipping out a bunch real quick I started to see how high I could go and started bouncing until I was nearly getting vertical on each one. It was pretty funny and FUN. LOL. I’ll have to get it on video some time. Needles to say I made my point…He calls me Tigger now as well. LOL.

LOL. Do as I say…not as I do. After watching the speed squat footage of two of my lifting newbies I’m training, both had better form than me on the last set. LOL. One has been squatting for 2 months now…and the first one in the video for only 1 day now. Must be the coach LOL.

Fun night tonight. I shirted up for the first time in over a year. Just did some board work as the multitude of runs in my shirt scares me (soaked it good first). Also started out with floor presses, which is a weakness for me. The extra wide benches tonight also took a lot of trust as spotters have to hold weight while you grab wide…and also when it is racked.

Ahhh. Rant to follow:

Yesterday sucked. I pretty much leave me swing shift group at work alone and channel everything through my coordinator as I’m trying to help him advance some of his leadership skills and further his career development. However with a 30 person swing shift I occasionally have to get involved. Last night was the second night this week I’ve had to stay late and do some intensive coaching with an individual on this team. It can be very emotionally draining to sit down and have those tough conversations with folks. Last night was no exception, and I spent almost an hour before we reached a resolution and a path forward…this is right before I walk out the door to lift.

So not only was I late getting to my workout, I was emotionally drained. Then to add on that I’m just physically beat as this is my 4th day in a row training (to take Friday off and get early start on weekend)

AHHH! Rant over.

20lb PR on last two sets…both with no leg drive unlike last week. maybe just a hint on very last rep, but I flattened out immediately. The 430x5 was nothing but solid.

also you can see why i strugle with these so much. i'm coming down and touching my chest on floor presses, and that is without my arch so it is actually a longer range of motion for me than a traditional bench press.

Again, nice lifts.

What do you mean by minis and superminis?
The size band. I use a combo of bands and weights on my cable machine. It kicks your ass! Fits your strength curve much better and gives you a much fuller abuse of the muscle really loading up the end of the movement.

But…..on the very last rep of my pressdowns I looked to the side and my necked popped. Its tweaked pretty good right now. Icing it as we speak. Hope I can still squat 2 morrow. Will see in morning after getting some heet on it before bed.

do those rags make it easier on your grip?? no chalk allowed i'm guess? Anyway PM if you want a couple recomendations on some little things that will help that deadlift keep going up.

Yeah they say no chalk, but I've seen a guy that works there deadlifting with chalk, so it's probably not a big deal. The towels (rags) work great for grip. Off to PM :run:

Well, I kept my neck loose enough to squat tonight…but still have a sore throat (2 days now) and wife was on couch in pajamas sick when I made it home. Wasn’t feelin to hot either but that didn’t stop me.

First night going straps up with my new suit. Lot on my mind with new gear and partners that had never spotted that kind of weight before. I think I will make sure I schedule some experienced PL on next suit workout.

Due to not feeling well I cut it a short workout and didn’t complete workout…or even go heavy enough to hit depth with suit. Also need to extend the hooks on my monolift…with the extra weight causing bar to bend it wasn’t low enough

All in all crappy workout but I got a little bit of time in new suit so it wasn’t a total loss.

Went to bed early last night, which helped today. Took off from work early to run downtown to city office and get remodel plans approved. Went quick so I had time to work on some design features of rock buggy when I got home before training partners showed up to lift. All in all a very good day!

A big fat 1/2lb + burger with two huge thick slices of bacon and some chedder cheese, alongside a plate of French fries. My choice to eat that today for lunch today stood in between me and my lifting goals for the evening. I knew I shouldn’t let my coworkers coerce me into going to the burger place today…but I wasn’t strong willed enough.

My plan for the evening was to test out me new squat suit and see how it worked for deadlifting, and also test out my new shrug bar. Neither really happened.

I know partials are not impressive but no flicking me crap. I need to slowly get used to having heavy weight on shoulders again and do some squatting safely with a lack of spotters. So I did some partials suspended in chains. Nothing impressive…just playing around with weight and suit a little.

Recovering nicely from my very disastrous cut I did last summer where I lost a lot of muscle mass. Only thing I’m disappointed about is that I had my waist down to 39” at belly button this year but now I’m back up to 40” again…but at least it hasn’t gone up higher than where I started the year.

Also, Triceps’ are definitely experiencing some hypertrophy. I have not been doing curls and arms are putting one some size at 17.5” hanging and 19” flexed…if only I would get around to doing some curls for the girls :run:

Love the creativity you incorporate --- chains bands, all the diff exercises you do, been giving me diff things to try lately..
thats how i arrived at the tittle 'F***ed up'
I get bored doing the same thing as well as the need to change it up and keep my body and nervous system ready for next challeng.:stick:

Lockouts are sick...gonna try em next week.
no vids. mind is off. issues at work....other issues you know about...remodel i'm starting on house this weekend....

and bigest of all our house had the door kicked in and robbed this week!!! ****ers. good thing i didn't catch em or i would probably be in prison.

I'll get my head on straight and back in the game today.:head:

I know, isnt that some ****...they break into your house, you retaliate and then they sue you...

that is some ****.

at least they go spooked by something and we only lost my wifes jewlery...and a door and lock.

I don't know if its the huge trophy right above the jewlery box that said "World Bench Press Champion" on it that did the trick:icon_lol: but more than likely it was the neghbors dog making noise or they noticed the alarm on the wall and thought it was going off (we forgot to turn it on that day:think: )

Nothing really. They said they have an officer that checks all jewelry at pawn shops and that would be best route to catch them as they were in and out so quick printing would likely not catch anything.

Said overall our neighborhood is pretty safe these days with very little problems. Used to be a bad neighborhood a several years before we moved into it.

This Saturday I’ve got to frame in a new door and we are going to go look around the pawn shops our self.


EDIT: Wife is still a little frazled but she is doing pretty good.
