Franken: 'Thrilled' at Minn. Senate win - Capitol Hill- msnbc.com

It will be interesting to see how the Obama administration governs if they've got those 60 Senate votes. The Democrats (assuming they survive the midterms) will be just about unstoppable.

Combine that with Sotomayor replacing Souter and perhaps even another Supreme Court appointment (you've gotta think someone else will die/retire in the next 8 years) and it's full steam ahead......wherever "ahead" may be.

Even though the comic won the race, they're not guaranteed 60 votes on everything. They definitely can't depend on Specter for a 60th vote everytime. That cat def dances to his own drum beat. There's not even a full concensus w/in the dem party on socializing healthcare.

It's a long way off still, but I think we're gonna see some musical chairs in 2010 similar to what happened in 1994.

Most definitely...nothing is garunteed. That's why I said "potential" super majority and "if" they could get the 60 votes, etc. Just interesting to see how this extra vote may or may not change the dynamic of how this administration chooses to govern, especially quickly, before the midterms.
