If you had to choose to work and live in either area, which would you chose?

OH money goes further.
Real estate far more plentiful.
More commerce.

ME is low crime.
Beautiful countryside.
Less populous, quiet living.

I would probably pick Bangor because of it's proximity to salt water, although you have the great lakes in Ohio there and being slightly more southerly I assume weather might be a tiny bit better?

Maine has lobster
Ohio has corn

oh but Ohio has OSU and OSU has OSU Cheerleaders.

as an avid boater I'd take Ohio and get moorage on lake erie

The difference in real estate prices is insane.

$200K in OH: NICE house in a super clean neighborhood.
$200K in ME: fixer-upper 25 miles from town.

WTF dude you can't buy an empty piece of buildable land in the tacoma area for $200k

if you have a job that pays the same in both places I'd probably take Ohio so I can spend the extra money boating personally.
