2012 NGA Alabama Natural Open Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championships - Super Pro Qualifier, Birmingham, AL, July 14th
Results
Fifty outstanding men and women athletes came from Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia and Alabama, to vie for Neils Andersen Sculptured trophies and NGA Pro Cards at Saturday's 2012 NGA Alabama Natural Open Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championships - Super Pro Qualifier in Birmingham, Alabama.
The athletes were pleased as we returned for the second year to Homewood High School with it's great stage, sound system and dramatic lighting, the pump up area, the back stage refreshments, their 2012 NGA Alabama sports bag with the official show t-shirt, water bottle and a Snickers bar.
Class winners were all awarded AAEFX supplements and a gift certificate from Cherry Bombs Attitude Gear for a men’s or women’s posing suit.
The contest started on time and ran smoothly. It was a "competitor's show," run by competitors who know what athletes want and need. All of the competitors said they would like to come back next year for the sixth annual 2013 NGA Alabama Natural Open Championships on July 13, 2013. Many said they would encourage their competitor friends to join them on stage. It was a fun show.
Pro Card eligible classes needed five or more competitors entered for the Open Division and three or more competitors entered for the Masters Division. NGA Pro Cards were awarded to seven athletes at this Super Pro Qualifier:
Frank Chaisson of Houma, LA took the Lightweight title and won the Overall Championship. He also won the Master’s 50+ title and Overall Masters title. Frank is now a proud NGA Open and NGA Master Bodybuilder Pro. His is an incredible achievement to say the least.
Terence Railey from Pearl, MS won the Men’s Masters 40+ title and Buford Pigg from Cullman, AL took the Masters 60+ title and were both awarded NGA Master Pro Cards. Railey also captured the Heavyweight class but with only four competitors entered it was not a Pro Qualifier.
Two years ago on this stage, Cody Howell from Odenville, AL won the Novice and Teen title. This time he won the Open Men’s Middleweight title and is a new NGA Bodybuilding Pro. He was joined in the NGA Pro ranks by Men’s Open Light Heavyweight champion, Paul Dziduch from Mt. Juliet, TN.
Figure Open and Figure Masters winner, Paige Hagar of Mt. Juliet, TN earned NGA Open Figure and NGA Master Figure Pro Cards. Bikini Open and Bikini Masters Champion, Tamra Barron from Chelsea, AL, won her NGA Bikini Pro Card.
