In my experience you are going to see more progress by doing full body sessions every time you go to the gym. For instance, choose some kind of different deadlift or squat variation every lifting day.
variation of deadlifts would be: Romanian deads, sumo deads, oly deads, db or bb.
For squats you have: hack, ATG, wide stance, front, back, box, split, etc.
Doing one squat or deadlift movement with an upper body press (shoulder press, Military, dips, bench) and an upper body pull (pull ups, chin ups, rows, pull downs) as well as 2-3 isolation movements (bicep curls, tri extensions, calves) provides a full body workout that is great for burning fat and gaining muscle.
