Looking for a very low carb, high fat/protein munchies. Would Pork Rinds hit the bill or is it just too unhealthy?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I guess I can vary between nuts and fruits. It's just that my local mart has a family size pork rinds on sale for $2.99. It can last me for at least 2-3 days if I portion it.Lots of saturated fat but it is generally lower carb, higher fats/protein. They are good though and hard to resist for sure!
For me, I wouldnt use them but everyone is different. What about trail mix? Just make sure its nuts and fruit, no granola.
No harm in trying it and seeing the effects, I guess it's just a case of making sure you don't fill your body with the saturated fats. Obviously red meat has saturated fats but not sure how it compares potion size to portion size.I guess I can vary between nuts and fruits. Pork rinds with little to no fillers, and cheeses. Practically no carbs. As long as you are primarily ketogenic, the heightened fat intake should not be an issue.Looking for a very low carb, high fat/protein munchies. Would Pork Rinds hit the bill or is it just too unhealthy?

But in the grand scheme of things - as far as ketogenic diet s concerned - aren't you better of with unhealthy fats compared to carbs? After all carbs are the enemy of fat loss.I'd limit them to an occasional snack. I'm sure the oil they use to fry them isn't healthy, most nutrients cooked out and low quality pork. Not to mention they taste like ****(atleast the one time I tried them).
There are also cheese snacks that have no/low carbs. Think I tried some kind of parmesan bites. Again probably not the healthiest so I would limit them, but def tastier.
IMO; short term yes. Long term no. Healthy fats > unhealthy fats > carbs for Keto diets, but it comes down to wether this is just a diet or a lifestyle. But in the grand scheme of things - as far as ketogenic diet s concerned - aren't you better of with unhealthy fats compared to carbs?
