THE END RESULTS:
Not sure where I placed just yet but it wasn't top 5. I'll get my score card in a couple days to find out where I placed out of a class of 12. It was tough, you could hear the judges say they were having a hard time with everyone in the bantam. I was up there for the symmetry round for so long! Everyone has the proportion, the design, the right tapers and framework. When it came to symmetry I could run with the best of em.
The problem was the muscularity round: here's where I lost it and there was no way around it. The guys who placed top 5 were in their 50's-60's with the most amazing muscle maturity and conditioning I could never achieve in my mid 20's. The younger guys...hell, even a guy I know in his 30's who's an INBF promoter himself, were no where near these Swiss beasts!
On an individual note: I messed something up on Thursday/Friday. I wasn't as crisp and tight as I was a few days before. My lining just wasnt as intense as I had it. This is the most vascular I've ever achieved and I'm still hurting this morning from my skin feeling so dry. I was pretty lean although I don't know my bodyfat%. My goal is to work on dialing in to get that conditioning (as with everyone else, no problem is nothing new). Every time I do a show I get closer to that goal but it's something my young blood hasn't figured out yet. I would have done a lot better going into the lightweight! I would have placed there for sure, it was closer to my tempo of competitors.
I had fun, it was a great showing. I have a lot to look forward to both for the future off season and next shows. I networked with a couple people about setting up a couple shows in Brooklyn for the upcoming year. I really want to see it happen, I have a great vision for it. In the mean time, gonna do a photo shoot on Tuesday (after I deflate from pizza bloat! lol). Not gonna do the NPC nest week, I just recently signed a new lease to move back to NJ and the move in date is the 15th so I'm packing up as I write this.
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND FOLLOWING THIS JOURNEY! PICTURES TO FOLLOW!
