What kind of gains are you expecting to get from pulsing, more or less than just a straight cycle?
Through pulsing I am expecting about 60% of the gains. That is the typical rule of thumb to expect from pulsing. As an example on a general ph compound, lets say you would gain 10lbs of mass running a straight cycle, but also be more susceptible to side effects and more likely to deal with them as well...also pct will be a must. With pulsing, you can expect to gain 6lbs out of the 10 and your gains and results will be gradual as opposed to immediate (my preferred style anyway), which benefits you as your tendons are given more time to adapt your new found strength and mass. Also, side effects will be minimal to none and your pct will be an absolute breeze because odds are through pulsing you will not have to worry about HPTA shutdown. In essence, it will be a lot easier to restore your natural function in general and keep your gains.

Also, since I do plan on going to 6 caps a day later on...it is much better to test out and experiment during a pulse as opposed to a straight cycle...its just smarter and safer.

Hopefully that gives you some answers bud. ;)

Cheers!

First Actual Update!

I've been away from this for far too long and its about f*cking time I get my head back in the game so here we go.

For those following along that have before...you know the drill and you know how I do things.

Quotes of the Day:

"The secret of discipline is motivation. When a man is sufficiently motivated, discipline will take care of itself."

-Sir Alexander Paterson-

"All I want out of life is that when I walk down the street, folks will say, "There goes the greatest hitter who ever lived."

-Ted Williams-

"Discontent is the first step in progress. No one knows what is in him till he tries, and many would never try if they were not forced to."

-Basil W. Maturin-

Supplement Usage:

Caffeine Nutratabs: Used only when needed for an extra kick in the ass!

The ONE: 4 caps daily (2 pre-workout, 2 post-workout)

DRIVE: 8 caps daily (4 upon waking, 4 pre-workout)

IGF-2: 8 caps (2-3-3) on days taking the ONE. 12 caps (2-6-4) on off days of the ONE.

Workout Summaries:

Note: I will return to normal updates with details of each workout, but for right now I will just be giving a summary of my workouts done over the past two weeks.

I have been doing my core powerlifts (Squats, Bench Press, and Deadlifts) on days I used the ONE. I am going to start adding in power cleans starting next week. On the days off of the one I have doing light weight high intensity style training with isolation focus. In addition, abs and cardio are done as well.

Thoughts on Workouts: Being that life has been very rough for me I am quite pleased that I have not really lost too much strength and power...I am still pulling heavy weight without too much of a struggle. However, my body has been wrecked and to be quite honest...I am flat out embarrassed with myself. Beyond that, the workouts are starting to get better as I go along here. The biggest effect I have noticed from taking the one so far is the incredible pumps it provides along with a pronounced muscle denseness...its an awesome feeling.

Workout Motivation Music Video:

Thoughts of the day: Alright I am going to be plain flat out honest...my life sucks balls at this point in time. I am stuck in a vicious cycle of hard knocks and needless to say I don't think I've ever felt so humbled and pathetic for that matter. I am one of the many that is a victim of the current US economy. So many things have happened over the past month and I just cannot catch a break. I have had to fight to stay in school and the only reason I am able to continue on is because my finance counselor for school has worked her ass off to make sure I am taken care of and can continue on so I can get the degree I have worked so hard for. My education is my top priority and something I take very seriously. I should have graduated with my Bachelor's Degree by now, but because of dealing with so many setbacks it has been one very prolonged process. I now have no more roadblocks to worry about though so in a little under a year I will have my Bachelor's Degree. Now I just have to get lucky and hope I get a job soon before I truly do lose everything and can't recover to save my ass. Be advised...I am venting, not asking for any sympathy...that is not my style. I am a prideful SOB and I always strive to stay positive and optimistic. One way or another I will come out on top because I always do and I am generally one of those men that stands when all others have fallen...I don't break and I don't give in. Alright enough sob story sh*t...I got out what I needed to. Nuff said!

Scientific Talk: Anthocyanin Anthocyanins are compounds found in plants, particularly berries, that have powerful antioxidant properties. Anthocyanins also provide some of the coloring or pigment of plants, flowers and fruits. Next to chlorophyll, anthocyanins are the most important group of plant pigments visible to the human eye. Strawberries have a high content of anthocyanins. Bilberry, Blackberry and Black Currant also have a high concentration of anthocyanins. Scientists have identified more than 500 different anthocyanins.
Anthocyanins are the largest group of water-soluble pigments in the plant kingdom and belong to the family of compounds known as flavonoids.

Anthocyanin pigments and associated flavonoids have demonstrated ability to protect against a myriad of human diseases, yet they have been notoriously difficult to study with regard to human health. Anthocyanins frequently interact with other phytochemicals to potentiate biological effects, thus contributions from individual components are difficult to decipher. The complex, multicomponent structure of compounds in a bioactive mixture and the degradation of flavonoids during harsh extraction procedures obscure the precise assignment of bioactivity to individual pigments. Extensive metabolic breakdown after ingestion complicates tracking of anthocyanins to assess absorption, bioavailability, and accumulation in various organs. Anthocyanin pigments and other flavonoids that are uniformly, predictably produced in rigorously controlled plant cell culture systems can be a great advantage for health and nutrition research because they are quickly, easily isolated, lack interferences found in whole fruits, can be elicited to provoke rapid and prolific accumulation, and are amenable to biolabeling so that metabolic fate can be investigated after ingestion.

visual acuity can be markedly improved through administration of anthocyanin pigments to animal and human subjects, and the role of these pigments in enhancing night vision or overall vision has been particularly well documented [23]. Oral intake of anthocyanosides from black currants resulted in significantly improved night vision adaptation in human subjects [24], and similar benefits were gained after administration of anthocyanins from bilberries [25]. Three anthocyanins from black currant stimulated regeneration of rhodopsin (a G-protein-coupled receptor localized in the retina of the eye), and formation of a regeneration intermediate was accelerated by cyanidin 3-rutinoside [26]. These studies strongly suggest that enhancement of rhodopsin regeneration is at least one mechanism by which anthocyanins enhance visual acuity.
In both in vitro and in vivo research trials, anthocyanins have demonstrated marked ability to reduce cancer cell proliferation and to inhibit tumor formation [27, 28, 29, 30]. The capacity of anthocyanin pigments to interfere with the process of carcinogenesis seems to be linked to multiple potential mechanisms of action including inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes and potent antioxidant potential. Hou et al [20] revealed that anthocyanins inhibit tumorigenesis by blocking activation of a mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. This report provided the first indication of a molecular basis for why anthocyanins demonstrate anticarcinogenic properties. In other research, fruit extracts with significant anthocyanin concentrations proved to be effective against various stages of carcinogenesis [18, 28, 31, 32], but the individual role of anthocyanins versus other components was not determined, in part because the anthocyanins were too easily degraded during bioassays if separated from stabilizing cofactors such as other phenolic constituents [33].
The role of anthocyanins in cardiovascular disease protection is strongly linked to oxidative stress protection. Since endothelial dysfunction is involved in initiation and development of vascular disease, four anthocyanins isolated from elderberries were incorporated into the plasma lemma and cytosol of endothelial cells to directly examine the protective roles [34]. These tests demonstrated not only that anthocyanins could be directly incorporated into endothelial cells, but that significant oxidative stress protection was the result. Delphinidin, but not malvidin or cyanidin, provided endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation in the rat aorta, providing a pharmacological benefit comparable to red wine polyphenolics [35]. In a rat model, little influence of feeding purified anthocyanins (cyanidin 3-O-glucoside) or anthocyanin-rich extracts from elderberry or blackcurrant could be detected on cholesterol levels or fatty acid patterns in liver, but the pigments were capable of sparing vitamin E [36]. Crude anthocyanin extracts from bilberry have been administered both orally and via injection to reduce capillary permeability [13]. In other research related to cardiovascular impairment, the roles of anthocyanin pigments versus other flavonoids delivered in the phytochemical extract have not been completely sorted out. Protection from heart attacks through administration of grape juice or wine was strongly tied to the ability of the anthocyanin-rich products to reduce inflammation and enhance capillary strength and permeability, and to inhibit platelet formation and enhance nitric oxide (NO) release [37]. Similarly, delivery of a black currant concentrate with intense anthocyanin content caused endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation in rat aorta rings in vitro [38]. The mechanism of vasorelaxation was attributed to increased levels of NO production, but the active compounds in the concentrate were not isolated. When rats were pretreated to create increased susceptibility to oxidative damage, then fed anthocyanin-rich extracts, significant reduction in indices of lipid peroxidation and DNA damage resulted [9]. Ingestion of these extracts, which contained mixtures of delphinidin, cyanidin, petunidin, peonidin, and malvidin in the 3-glucopyranoside forms, also increased plasma antioxidant capacity.

A personal view from me...most people know that blueberries in particular are good for your health. However, what people do not know is that making blueberries a part of your daily diet can in fact increase your cognitive function and abilities. I have a particular interest in Anthocyanins because of their ability to possibly help with mental disorders and diseases. I am a human studies major (studied 4 major disciplines: Anthropology, Criminology, Psychology, and Sociology), but my main focus is on psychology. Hence, why I am so interested in the uses and applications of Anthocyanins. Another idea to point out though...if you eat blueberries daily (preferably breakfast and post-workout) you theoretically can enhance your workout performance as the Anthocyanins found mainly in blueberries enhance your neural and cognitive function, which in effect may influence the all important mind-muscle connection. In other words, don't look at blueberries as just another food that is good for you...there is a lot more to them then meets the eye.

The kind of work I am looking for is simple...anything that will get me by. Unfortunately in this economy You can't be picky and choosy. I care more about surviving and taking care of my responsibilities more than anything else. I did apply to a few ads on Craigslist. I have an interview tomorrow...its nothing big and its through a temp agency, but at this point I really don't give a damn. To get where I really want to be I have wait until I receive my Bachelor's Degree and that is just under a year away.

Also take into account that I do live in one of the worst areas in the United States when it comes to the job market...Both Chrysler and GM are within 20-30 mins driving time from where I live...which means I am stuck right in the middle. Rock county of Wisconsin is one of the worst job markets out there right now.

As for why I am unemployed...My position I had at Anytime Fitness...well I had no problem with the job...I enjoyed myself and enjoyed helping members, but dealing with my so called "bosses" was a joke. I made a big mistake moving from home and long story short...it was a hard lesson learned. Honestly, I have just had terrible luck for the past it seems like year now. However, enough of my sob story. Thanks for your support Papa Deuce! :)

I am doing a heavy workout tonight so an update will ensue later on...most of you will most likely be in bed by the time I make my update so stay tuned until tomorrow. ;)

Update from Monday!

This is my update from Monday night. I did not work out yesterday as I wanted to...felt like crap all day so took the day off. Anyway, onward with the update...

Quotes of the Day:

"Written laws are like spiders' webs, and will, like them, only entangle and hold the poor and weak, while the rich and powerful will easily break through them."

-Famous Philosopher Anacharsis-

"500 fights, that's the number I figured when I was a kid. 500 street fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate tough guy. You need them for experience. To develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then, after, you realize that's what you are."

-Vin Diesel from Knockaround Guys-

"You know an odd feeling? Sitting on the toilet eating a chocolate candy bar."

-George Carlin-

DRIVE: 4 caps upon waking, 6 caps pre-workout, 2 caps pre-bed

IGF-2:

Osteobolin-C: 4 caps upon waking, 2 caps pre-workout with TT's, and 2 caps post-workout

NeoVar Recomped: 6 caps pre-breakfast, 6 caps before pre-workout meal

Thermogenic Thyrotabs: 1 tab upon waking, 1 an hour pre-workout, and 1 tab pre-bed

Music Video to get things rolling:

The Workout:

10 minutes of stretching

Warmups

5 sets of 5 of power cleans

5 sets of 5 Squats

5 sets of 5 Bench Press

5 sets of 5 Deadlifts

Thoughts on Workouts: I really enjoyed this workout...Once I felt a decent sweat building up its like an animal was unleashed I started to take out some frustration and anger out on the weights...it felt really good. I only took a minute rest in between each set of each exercise and transitioning from one exercise to the next. This was a very successful workout so I was pleased.

Workout Motivation Music Video:

Thoughts of the day: Well I had a good interview with a staffing agency and we'll see what happens. Now it is just more of the same...continue looking for jobs and play the waiting game. To be honest, it is struggle to stay positive and optimistic, but I refuse to be weak and allow myself to become depressed. Something good has to happen...I really can't get much lower than I am right now.

Scientific Talk: Instead of putting down anything here...I am going to save space and just post an interesting link for those interested in reading. This link is based explaining the benefits of the chlorophytum genus, more in particular something most will not be familiar with...Chlorophytum arundinacceum. Now you might notice Applied Nutriceuticals using a form of chlorophytum...that being Chlorophytum borivilianum. However, an interesting note to understand...Safed Musli is listed as the ingredient, but there are a few different products out there that have safed musli in them, but that does not necessarily mean that each product is using Chlorophytum borivilianum or arundinacceum. For all you know...you could be taking in a part of the chlorophytum genus that has no human effect. Just a curious idea for you to keep in mind. Now with that said...at least you know what you are getting from Applied Nutriceuticals...Safed Musli in the form of Chlorophytum borivilianum. Anyway, enough babbling...

Check out the link...its some interesting stuff to read...

I have a very different style of taste...I am very picky if anything. However, the Skindred pick...its the only song I really like from them. It was something different and strayed from being common...probably why I like it.

I am a big Hatebreed fan, but I can't necessarily say that is their best song...I'll say its one of their top 3 though. ;)

Nor am I. I am not into concerts really because you always have some idiots that have to start sh*t and make a scene. The last time I was at a concert...a Disturbed concert in Milwaukee I had to lay some jackass out...the F*cker drilled the point of his elbow into the middle of my back and I turned around and dropped his drunk ass to the floor...my Irish temper got the best of me. I'm generally calm, but that type of **** I won't put up with. In other words, I understand where your coming from...I am not of a fan of that sh*t either...I only listen to the music to get an adrenaline rush to workout.

Just as a note...been busy this weekend. Haven't had time to make any updates. However, starting tomorrow on Monday I am bumping the ONE to 6 caps. Also, there is no need for me to go to every other day dosing of DRIVE and IGF-2...thanks in large part to my wonderful woman Rosie...I now have more of each product to continue taking everyday. Also, I will start dosing 2nd Gear tomorrow night as well. 1 cap will be taken every night prior to bedtime. Update coming tomorrow! ;)

Start of Week 4! (6 caps a day M-W-F)!

Ok so now the games can really begin. This is week 4 of my cycle and I have officially bumped up to 6 caps a day M-W-F. For the first week...I am doing a 2-2-2 approach and dosing the ONE with NeoVar: Recomped prior to my higher carb containing meals. If this week goes real good with that protocol I might just stick with it. However, I might also go to 3 and 3 next week so we'll see how everything plays out through this week. If your curious as to the reason why I am dosing the ONE with NeoVar it is quite simple...the ONE is a strong nutrient repartitioner just like NeoVar. In essence, this is the best part of the ONE so far. I can actually tell I am leaning out some what and it is definitely a welcomed effect. However, please be aware that if you want to use the ONE on a cut and you stack it with IGF-2 and NeoVar: Recomped...you damn well better be disciplined like a Navy Seal because your appetite will be through the roof and it is very hard to say no to food...lol. :D. Just thought I would mention that. ;)

Anyway, a plan that I have at the end of my cycle pre-pct is that I will give a summary of both 4 caps a day and 6 caps a day to highlight any differences I notice whilst taking the ONE.

OK now onward with my actual update...

Quotes of the Day:

"The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them."

-Dennis Watley-

"While one person hesitates because he or she feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior"

-Henry C. Link-

"You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', '****', and 'Colon'."

-Chris Rock-

5 sets of 5 Deadlifts

Thoughts on Workouts: It took me a bit to get into this workout. I was a bit pissed because my performance was sucking ass at the beginning. However, I attribute that to feeling like sh*t because I have been fighting off catching a cold. I'm a stubborn SOB and I don't give into anything. LOL. :D. Anyway, after I got done with my power cleans and got into my squats I felt great and came alive...its like a bomb went off...the aggression kicked in and the sweat started dripping off me...just the way I like to workout...sweaty and ready to rip someone's head off.. This was a good workout to start the week, but still far from my standard...I still say this workout was lackluster compared to normal style workouts, but I can't complain because I forced my ass to get some work done and that is what matters!

Thoughts of the day: The day was pretty blah and I felt lethargic all day, but I blame the weather and having to do my research paper on operant conditioning. Something to note though...my doses of the ONE and NeoVar together seriously increased my hunger like nothing else before...I was literally a bottomless pit and had to good judgment and cut myself off. Honestly I felt like could have kept eating every 30 minutes throughout the day. Also, my libido was rather dormant until after my workout...then it was ridiculously out of control. The good news is...I am 3 weeks in and the only side effects I have experienced while using the ONE have been minor headaches due to not taking in enough water around my doses (hasn't been an issue since I first dealt with them in week 1) and some lethargy here and there. The ONE can definitely work like a stimulant and make you feel good, but it can also make you feel unmotivated at times...then you hit the weights and that quickly goes away (the best way to counteract this effect is to take the ONE closer to your workout, taking it too far out makes you a bit more inclined to being unmotivated because your focus roams elsewhere other than working out). I am suffering no effects of suppression, or any other real side effects so my pulse cycle is turning out to be smooth. Lastly, a key effect I have noticed while on the ONE...I am rather calm for me and I feel more balanced...so no mood swings, just good feelings.

Scientific Talk: Aquarqarha is an herb with many names. A common name for the herb is pellitory and its biological names are Anacyclus pyrethrum and Pyrethrum radix. The root of this herb is a valuable sialogogue. It is often used as a tonic to the nervous system. It is powerfully irritant. It is also used for rheumatic conditions, and to aid in digestion. Also useful for toothaches (use as a gargle). It is also used as an insecticide. Other applications include treatment for epilepsy, paralysis, hemiplegia, and for sore throat and tonsils. Some herbalists suggest that this herb may be useful for diabetes.

My personal interest in this herb is that it can possibly aid in the fight against diabetes and paralysis. On the paralysis side of the coin, the theory behind a possible use of this herb in helping treat paralysis is that it is believed that application of this herb to the skin stimulates the nerve ends that may result in redness, and irritation accompanied by a hot, burning sensation. The redness, irritation accompanied by the hot and burning sensation works to help stimulate the nervous system and possibly revive the nerves which are damaged causing paralysis. Also, it is believed that through the burning sensation caused by application to the skin this herb may serve as a means for research in psychology to help understand whether the mind and body work as one, or separately. The mind body conundrum still boggles the minds of researchers presently, but it is possible that with herbs such as Aquarqarha the conundrum may become closer to being solved.

Thats it for this edtion!

Cheers my fellow followers!

This just in....I want to F*cking rip Charter Communications a new a$$hole. Man I am getting tired of this crap...my IC is so touchy and on and off its ridiculous. I at least finally narrowed down the problem...its my modem. The modem itself sucks.

Beyond that...I'll make an update later on tonight. Sorry I have not been able to post my fellow followers.

Well last night did not exactly go according to plan. So no update for last night. I tried to workout, but it just was not going to happen. I felt like absolute sh*t. I got into doing warmups and felt like throwing up. Then I felt cold and well last night just sucked. I am not sick, or anything. However, I believe it is a mixture of the sh*t weather (cold...damn I hate WI weather), stress, not an adequate enough diet for a man of my size, and losing my temper too often with things. I do have a bad temper (in the sense when I do let it get the best of me..its not a pretty site...I'm an absolute a$$hole) and the problem with that is...my blood pressure sky rockets when I blow my top more or less. Now some would think that issues with blood pressure might be due to the use of the ONE...actually I have had no issues there with the ONE at all. Even at using 6 caps...no issues with testicular atrophy, shutdown either. The crazy thing is...at 6 caps...my libido is stronger. My desire and physical response are up. I do believe the reason I am having no issues with libido or atrophy issues is that I am concurrently running DRIVE and IGF-2 at 12 caps respectively in addition.

Honestly, the only negative things I can say about the ONE are that at times the lethargy can really kick your ass, if you do not eat enough around doses or if you don't drink enough water (water in particular...not just liquid) headaches are a bitch....you will feel a lot of pressure in your face, forehead, and on the sides of your face by the jawbones.

A good, but annoying side effect at times is that the pumps can became too immense...especially in the arms (forearms in particular). The pumps can become painful and really restrict movement...for me it is when these pumps happen that I also see my vascularity really jump out too.

I am going to try to get a workout in some time tonight. So we'll see what happens. Stay tuned for a real update sometime my fellow followers ;)

Cheers!

First...welcome to my log. :welcome:

Second, the Pulse is going rather well. If you go through some of my updates you will notice I have had no issues with shutdown, minor sides in general, and it is keeping me lean. This is only my first run of the ONE. Later on in the year I'll be running it again in the same exact fashion...then I will be more results driven. My whole point using the ONE at this time was to use it as a kickstart to get me back going strong again and to maintain and recomp (my expectations were set very low due to my current situation). So far so good on that end. Also, this is my trial run or my what I term as the experimental run...playing around with the doses and timing, etc, to see what creates the best effects. So if your looking for in particular details from me at the moment...that I can't give you until I run the ONE my second time and then you'll see how detailed I get. If you've got time...go back through my log, or some of the other logs I've done and I am sure you'll get an understanding on when it comes to detail I don't play around. :)

Cheers!

Yes the lethargy does kick your ass...not fun at all. You'll enjoy it for sure brutha man. The feelings of well-being are great and it definitely works nicely as a nutrient repartitioner, plus you don't feel unhealthy whilst running the ONE unlike some other compounds. What you will like most about the ONE though are probably the muscle fullness/density feelings, mind-muscle connection, crazy pumps, and vascularity. :)

Cheers brutha man!

Update on its way later on here. I'll be working out in about an hour and 20 minutes. I just took my doses of DRIVE, TT's, IGF-2, Osteobolin-C, etc. So I'll be taking my first dose of 3 caps of the ONE here in about another 20 mins along with 3 caps of NeoVar and then have some oatmeal and blueberries...30 mins after its time to rip some sh*t up. This will be a fun update! Stay tuned my fellow followers. ;)

Start of Week 5! Update 1 (Tropic Thunder Style)

First off, fair warning...prepare yourself...this is a long update, but well worth the read so enjoy the entertainment.

Ok everyone, this marks the start of week 5 of my pulse cycle. I was going to start running 2nd Gear, but honestly...I don't see a reason to until the start of next week now...that is how well the cycle is going. Even after a pulse week of 6 caps...no libido loss, no shutdown/ testicular atrophy...if anything my libido has jumped considerably and my chest has hardened up like granite actually. With more dedication I'll have my chest back to being solid like titanium come end of May/beginning of June.

Now onto my Tropic Thunder style update! :toofunny:

Quotes of the Day:

"Great. Let me get this down. 100 million... Oh, wait! I got a better idea. Instead of a hundred million, how about I send you a hobo's D*ck cheese? Then, you kill him. Do your thing, skin the f*cking bastard. Go to town, man. Go to town! In the mean time and as usual, go F*ck yourself."

-Tom Cruise as Les Grossman-

"Check it out. Dustin Hoffman, 'Rain Man,' look retarded, act retarded, not retarded. Counted toothpicks, cheated cards. Autistic, sho'. Not retarded. You know Tom Hanks, 'Forrest Gump.' Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded. Peter Sellers, "Being There." Infantile, yes. Retarded, no. You went full retard, man. Never go full retard. You don't buy that? Ask Sean Penn, 2001, "I Am Sam." Remember? Went full retard, went home empty handed..."

-Robert Downey Jr. as Kirk Lazarus

"You kick in the door to my house all ants in your pants, sucking my left nut to get a TiVo scrap for the 3rd runner-up "sexiest man alive" 1998... And you're asking if I'm SERIOUS?"

-Les Grossman as Tom Cruise again-

Pics of the day:

Some eye candy for the fellas...

A double dip of Megan Fox...

Supplement Usage:

The ONE: 6 caps (3 caps prior to pre-workout meal, 3 caps an hour after my workout prior to my post-workout meal)

DRIVE: 4 caps upon waking, 6 caps pre-workout

IGF-2: 4 caps upon waking, 4 caps pre-workout, 2 caps pre-bed

Osteobolin-C: 4 caps upon waking, 2 caps pre-workout with TT's, and 2 caps post-workout

NeoVar Recomped: 4 caps pre-breakfast with the ONE, 4 caps before pre-workout meal with the ONE, and 4 caps prior to my post-workout meal with the ONE.

Thermogenic Thyrotabs: 1 tab upon waking, 1 an hour pre-workout, and 1 tab pre-bed

Funny Videos to get things rolling:

The Workout:

10 minutes of stretching

15 minutes of cardio (wall to wall running...similar to the basketball workout suicides)

Warmups of all exercises

5 sets of 5 of power cleans

5 sets of 5 Squats

5 sets of 5 Bench Press

5 sets of 5 Deadlifts

Thoughts on Workouts: Ok for the first time in a long time I felt like ME again...I mean I was motivated and ready to f*cking destroy anything in my path. I was feeling great. The weight felt light and I went fairly heavy this time out. I enjoyed bench press the most though because my chest literally blew up like a balloon and it felt like my chest was titanium plated armor...it was crazy and its almost hard to explain, but needless to say it felt f*cking phenomenal. My squats were deep and as perfect as I can get with form...my legs had a great pump effect going as well...its like I had tree trunks for legs. Power cleans...I ripped through them so fast it felt like I hadn't done anything. Deadlifts...wow did I ever just have an aggressive almost psychotic type of feeling into my second set. Its like I zoned out...I felt the bar, but its like it was floating because I felt no gravitational pull...its like it felt weightless. I haven't been mentioning weight lately because its trivial anymore...everyone that has followed my logs knows I don't lift light ;).

Workout Rating: 9.7 This workout was F*cking awesome...nuff said!

Workout Motivation Music Video:

Ok seriously...this one almost had me in tears I was laughing so hard...Tourette's Guy vs Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder (Tom Cruise)

Thoughts of the day: Well the great news is...I am feeling really good right now. I will be getting an A+ in my current course of psychology and nearly a perfect score...I've only missed 1 point off. I am pretty stoked about that and proud of myself. Furthermore, I am still job hunting, but I feel more optimistic now...I have an interview with a correctional facility for part-time security work (about 25-30 hours a week and decent pay) and if there is a job that I have the best chance of getting it would be this one because of my criminal justice and human studies background and well...the obvious...my size.

Just to mention...the whole reason for my Tropic Thunder style theme of this update is because I watched the movie again...for the third time and the great laughs I had from it while actually seeing the whole thing this time just put me in a great uplifted mood. Tom Cruise made the movie for me really...take his part away and it would be an ok movie still, but would have lacked the punch necessary to really elicit a response from people.

Scientific Talk: Revisiting of Saw Palmetto

Saw palmetto, an herbal extract commonly taken to improve urinary symptoms in men with enlargement of the prostate gland, is no more effective than a placebo, according to a new study.

The year-long, double-blind study of 225 men was led by Stephen Bent, MD, a staff physician at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, and Andrew Avins, MD, MPH, of the Northern California Kaiser Permanente Division of Research.

The results are published in the February 9, 2006 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.

In their study, the researchers randomly assigned patients with enlargement of the prostate, also known as or benign prostate hyperplasia or BPH, to take either saw palmetto or a placebo twice a day for one year. Subjects returned at regular intervals to be assessed for symptoms and side effects. Symptoms were assessed according to a standard symptom score for BPH and objective measures of urinary function.

"If you look at the change in symptoms over time between the two groups, it was almost identical," reports Bent, who is also an assistant professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. "There was no statistically significant difference at any time point during the study."

The researchers also looked at subgroups of patients - those with more and less severe symptoms and those with larger and smaller prostates - and found no difference in any of the subgroups between the herbal extract and placebo.

"The results of this study clearly do not support a strong clinical benefit of saw palmetto for BPH," concludes Bent. "However, whether other doses, formulations, or patient populations might respond differently is unknown."

The researchers estimate that saw palmetto is used by over two million men in the United States for treatment of BPH, which is said by the National Institutes of Health to affect more than 50 percent of men over 60 and upwards of 90 percent of men over 70.

Bent acknowledges that the study results are surprising, since many earlier studies concluded that saw palmetto is effective against BPH. However, he points out a number of differences between the current study and earlier research.

"Prior studies were generally small in size and short in duration," he says. "Plus, the vast majority of them did not use the standard symptom score that we used for assessing the severity of BPH," which is now commonly used to judge the efficacy of pharmaceutical drugs for treatment of the condition.

Another potential problem with earlier studies has to do with the nature of saw palmetto itself, according to Bent. "This is a very pungent herb, and it took our research team a long time to create a placebo that convincingly duplicates its strong smell and taste. We suspect that prior trials didn't adequately address that problem." As a result, he says, "it's possible that some of the positive findings in earlier work may be due to the fact that the blinding wasn't adequate." In other words, patients in those studies knew whether they were taking the herb or the placebo, and "someone who's taking something that's smelly and likely to be the plant extract is perhaps more likely to report a benefit than someone who's taking an odorless and tasteless tablet."

At the end of the current study, 40 percent of patients in the saw palmetto group believed they were taking the herbal extract versus 46 percent in the placebo group, demonstrating that the blinding was adequate, says Bent.

Bent notes that his research team took pains to select an herbal product that matched the levels of fatty acids and sterols - commonly believed to be saw palmetto's active ingredients - found in most commonly available commercial preparations of the herb.

Almost all prior studies of saw palmetto used exactly the same dose, says Bent - 160 milligrams twice a day - and the current study used that dose as well. He notes that such consistency of dose is not typical among studies of most other herbal medications.

The current study subjects reported no statistically significant side effects from saw palmetto.

Bent cautions that while the study is strongly indicative, it is not conclusive. "This is a surprising finding that contradicts the weight of prior evidence," he observes. "There is good reason for other researchers to conduct another study to validate these results, taking care that blinding is done carefully once again."

In addition, says Bent, "Some people believe that higher doses may be potentially effective, and that's an area that we did not address."

A major new NIH-funded study of saw palmetto and another commonly-used herbal treatment for BPH is currently in the final planning stages, according to Avins, who is a co-author of the current study. The new study will involve several hundred patients at 11 centers nationwide, and researchers hope it will shed more definitive light on the questions of adequate doses and other potentially useful natural treatments for BPH, says Avins.

Other co-authors of the current study include Christopher Kane, MD, and Katsuto Shinohara, MD, of SFVAMC; John Neuhaus, PhD, and Esther S. Hudes, PhD, MPH, of UCSF; and Harley Goldberg, DO, of UCSF and KPNC.

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/37468.php

In other words, Saw Palmetto is not necessarily "safe" as original thought. Unless you are a man already having problems with BPH, the use of Saw Palmetto is not necessary. Furthermore, to use Saw Palmetto if you are already healthy could prove to be counter productive and actually lead to problems instead of preventing them.

Some more information which I will also share is that Pumpkin Seed Extract is actually a better alternative to Saw Palmetto. While they work similarly, they also work differently. However, I will mention more about Pumpkin Seed Extract again in my next update. Now if your wondering why I am shedding light on these substances right now it is that if you want to use Applied Nutriceuticals the ONE like I am doing right now...using Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin Seed Extract, or Beta Sistosterol will greatly inhibit your chance of success with the compound. To make it clear...if you want to use the ONE...steer clear of any substances that the ability to inhibit the 5 Alpha Reductase Enzyme.

Thats it for this edtion!

Cheers my fellow followers!

I noticed your dosing IGf-2 three times a day. At the moment i'm doing 4 on waking and 4 before bed. Would you recommend dosing pre workout too for my next run?
