Thanks, and good call on the pin presses. I haven't done them in a long while. I can only remember doing CG pin presses. Should I comp grip?

    It's better, still not 100%.

It's unbelievable how long it's taken. I snapped my toe completely off and it came back quicker, lol.

    Lol I hear ya.

You gonna meet in the summer?

I'm looking for a spring meet possibly. I have a lot to figure out. I'll be running test for 12 weeks (maybe an oral too), smolov for 4, then I'll run a program of my choice. I've got to make sure I have enough time to peak. Which is going to make for a serious time crunch.

Yes sir. I also should note that I used a different bench, which might be a tad higher. The issue is its very narrow and I'm fairly broad. Makes it tough to balance on that phucker.

  9. Decisions, decisions. I really want to hop on smolov jr next week. But I know my hip is going to give me a big **** you.

Advice? I'm not opposed to going napalm and grinding out 4 weeks of pain for 30lbs of skwat gains.

  10. Heal for a week then do it.

I see you're already trying to win that squat competition LOL

  11. I might just do that, dude. I need a 500lb squat.

  21. Today:

Weird day. Nothing scheduled, I just wanted to celebrate the end of the semester.

    Cat back pull downs: 30x4

Heavy bag work: damn this gave me memories of how technically proficient I use to be. Lol. And how much better my cardio use to be. I use to run 6-8 miles daily. I don't think I could run 2 right now.

    Cable crunches: 20x3

    Russian twists: 50x2

    Mobility. Tis all.

I went to hit the bag when I was still at Bragg, a few years post MMA/Boxing. I was disappointed in myself, and never did it again lol. (still good with the speed bag though)

Yeah dude, takes a while to get it right. Most important thing is foot work. Your hands and feet have to be in sequence or it won't flow. I miss it man. First thing I'm going to do when I get some free time is train some MMA. I have zero ground game.

I learned boxing primarily from my dad (ex golden glove boxer), so that's what I took with me to MMA (mostly striking at the gym I trained at).

I don't do ground game lol.

I've trained with this kid for a few years. He's 1 of 3 fighters from my gym that's training at/with Floyd Mayweather and managed under Al haymon.

Chris Pearson, now 13-0 (10 KO's I believe). National champion, Olympic fighter, 147-9 amateur record (ranked 2nd in US at the time).

Golden Gloves is an amazing tournament. Ground games so important tho. If I get taken down I'll look like a turtle on its back, lol.

    Well, I weighed a whopping 140# at 5'8"-5'9" when I did it.

Luckily, I was pretty strong from all of the lifting I did for football so a lot of times I could out muscle my way off the ground.

But, outside of that I was screwed. Especially if they were good, cuz then I'd get tired lol.

  28. Oh yeah, when they fall face down they aren't getting back up lol.

Haha, I know dude that's the thing. People who know what they're doing will dominate you every time, irregardless of size.

I use to wrestle state qualified wrestlers in high school just to get my ass beat. I weighed 200 they weighed 130-150 and every time they would single leg me and control me to where I couldn't get up. They never pinned me, cuz my hips were a lot stronger, but my ass never got up once.

  30. Lol my heavy bag is sitting outside asking me to come visit. I stopped doing MMA as much now that I'm more serious about training... too many little injuries here and there to be risking it.
