PLEASE Help :(

I just stumbled across this site not too long ago. I have been trying to read different posts, but they all tend to run together for me so i figured i would post something myself and see what happens.

I have got to loose weight, i have gained a lot of weight in the last year and am just sick of it. I'm not familiar with much on supplements, trying to read about them and what not but gets confusing after a while.

I'm 26 6'3 about 250. About a year ago i was around 200 and would like to get back down there and need suggestions. After i get back down there then my goal is to start working out harder toget muscle definition and all that fun stuff, ....So, i need a starting place.

Currently i just started taking CLA and multi vitamins, not sure what else i should go for???

Any help would be great. oh and im also planning on doing like the abs diet meal choices and stuff like that.

Lol I always find it funny when people say "I don't want tons of muscles." I'm not calling you out or anything but believe me it won't happen if you don't train for many years and want to.

First off whats your diet like? If you have been reading thought the threads than you will find diet is 90% of what it takes to succeed, 9.5% is training, and .5% is supplements (not including hormonal stuff, but that is something you are not going to concern yourself with.)

Now what does your current diet look like (Macros, caloric total vs your BMR?) Honestly people think supplements will get them ripped up but they will be rendered useless unless you put the time into a solid nutritional program.

As of right now until we know more, a multi vitamin is all you really need (and the CLA is fine too.)

This is going to sound so contrary to what you would think to hear on a supplement pimping message board.

You do not need any supplement to achieve your goals. You are overweight. A caloric deficit and or a combination of deficit and exercise will result in utilization and oxidization of excess body fat. NO supplement required.

My suggestion is that you begin now doing what I have bolded in the quote of your post above.

Simple compound exercises like bench press, bent rows, pull ups, squats, deadlifts, barbell curls etc etc combined with lots and lots of cardio will have you achieving your goals in no time. And the bonus is that you will have saved a lot of money in the mean time.

Start out with about 2200 calories a day, 200-250 grams of protein, no more than ~100grams of complex carbs (targeted around your workouts) and the balance of calories from EFA (olive oil, flax seed oil, fish oil).

Do 10-20 mins of cardio warm up prior to working out. Do 20-30 mins (or more) after your workout is comleted.

This is a very simple and basic place to start out. Do that for 6-8 weeks without fail and you will SURELY see 10-12lbs of fat loss with no trouble at all and no out of pocket cash.

Then, maybe then, think about SUPPLEMENTING your already solid diet and exercise plan.

Good luck!

Am I the only one that sees how ironic it is that only .5% of the equation makes up 99.5% data base on this board?

It's inevitable B when people are always looking for that extra edge both to blow through PRs but also be ahead of those around them (also not saying that I'm not a supp junkie like the others.) However I find also that the core of this board is at the point where supplements are very useful in our progress.
