Does she have an addictive personality? Ie uses marijuana or alcohol in order to "relax."

Stay with wine. In moderation it is good for you in so many ways.

I'd tell her to stick with wine, red wine in fact. Otherwise some vodka in red bull or something... low in cals.

I agree, wine is a good choice. A few glasses really isn't going to kill you.

Vodka is also a good choice.

well If going low cals then one of the best choices or at least the best that is legaly sold in my state is 151 bacardi. Almost no calories and if she is a girl I can't imagine her needing to many shots of it.

Try meditation.. does wonders for stress and your focus.

I laughed the first time I heard it but now I love it, helps you focus later.

Trust me doing (insert drug here) to relax is a bad choice, think about it your admiting you can't handle life with out chemical aid. I took that road for too long and found out you only weaken yourself.

I would definitely stick with the wine. Bioflavanoids in wine fromt he grapes used have shown to have many positive health benefits (much like grape juice)

As far as the preaching goes, I say get over it guys, it's not like from the description Lake gave she a raging party-girl boozer who's destroying her life with alcohol. Anyone who is that concerned enough to be very specific with their alcohol intake regarding nutrition doesn't seem to be heading for disaster to me.

Drinking alcohol isn't bad. Drinking alcohol for the wrong reasons is. If you enjoy coming home from work, and having a cold one, or a glass of wine I don't see the big deal. If you are doing it, because you say you can't handle the stress then you may want to evaluate that statement.

Red wine all the way though. It is very good for you. You may want to tell your friend that new studies have shown that women who consume alcohol on a daily basis have a much higher risk of getting breast cancer, and the % goes up significantly with each drink.
