I cook rice and black beans together in some garlic, throw it in a pan to cook some more, then add egg beaters, a whole egg, salt, pepper and garlic to taste. Yummy and anabolic. (Of course it may cause anabolic bowels...beware)

i buy it, look at it, and put i straight in the trash. Just looking at rice these days makes me wanna puke. The bean mix is pretty good though. I like it with black beans the best.

brown rice risotto

slice some white onions real thin and cook them in a pan with fat free pam cooking spray. Dump in brown rice and a couple of cans of fat free chicken broth. Then add 1.5 to 2 small cans of tomato paste. Add red pepper, basil, oregano, garlic, bay leaves and season to taste. Boil then reduce heat and cook covered for about 1.5 hours and wa la, Italian heaven and good carbs for a few meals.

If you are going to eat rice get organic brown basmati rice. It's got the lowest GI and best nutritional profile of any rice. Use it pretty much anywhere you'd use oatmeal.

Still not as good as beans though I really like carribean food, it's ready made for a clean healthy diet, just use butter spray instead of oil for cooking.

I actualyl made up a pretty good one the other day. Try this.

Sautee some onoins, mushrooms and garlic in a pan (I use Oilivio Spay w/ no fat Olive Oil spray) Then add some sliced chicken, use chicken broth if you notice the chicken sticking at all. Then add Balsalmic vinegar let that simmer for about 3-4 min. Add your desired amount of rice, and there ya go. Its actually pretty damn good. The vinegar supposedly lowes teh GI index further as well. Also I like to use a tiny bit of Parm. Cheese on top. Just for a bit a flavor!

At a high enough temp the EFA's in oils such as Olive Oil are damaged, thats my guess as to why he said use butter spay. Plus I use a no fat butter spay so I can seperate my fats and carbs!

I keep my fat intake to under 20% of my daily calorie intake. Also, carribean food does not taste good cooked with olive oil, butter spray tastes better and more authentic imo (though nothing beats the good old fashioned butter).

Like I said, carribean food is great, baja style seafood grill with mixed veggies is good (esp. "puck"'d up with cilantro and funky salsas like mango or tomatillo/avacado) and indian food is yummy (just stay away from the oily curry pastes, coconut milk and deep fried stuff). I think it's kind of easy to get in a rut with the eating, but there are plenty of options out there for you if you just pick up a few cookbooks.

I need to marry a girl that cooks and cleans so I can focus on the lifting
