Hello and welcome to my Recipe thread. I and people will be posting our recipes on food....if you have decent recipes PLEASE contribute.

First off!

GORP.

Used by backpackers and bikers its any combo of a sweet substance and a fat like nuts. Here are some of my favorite recipes!

1 lb peanuts

4 cups chocolate chips

mix togeather. done! simple and easy to eat. for quick sustained energy!

Some other mixes include the use of raisens, almonds, grainola, dryed apple, M&Ms and anything you can think of. If you wanna snack make some of this stuff!

Here's my new & improved super weight gainer (modified version of YJs)

16oz of water or milk
1 whole banana
2 scoops of natural peanut butter
1/3 cup of crushed or ground up oatmeal
4 tblspoon of flaxoil
2 tblspoon of natural chocolate syrup or molasses
2 tblspoon of natural unflavored yogurt
2 scoops of chocolate/vanilla whey protein

If you're using strawberry protein, you can substitute the peanut butter for 4 or more fresh or frozen strawberries and leave out the chocolate syrup (I've never seen natural strawberry syrup, but there might be some out there). You could also use regular chocolate syrup, but I find sugar free at my local health food store. I also find natural unflavored/unsweeted yogurt there also. You can buy it in jars or big tubs. I add this for the acidopholus and other enzymes. 4 tblspoons of flax may seem like a lot, but that really adds in the calories and the fat helps boost natty test levels.

lol that's awesome, not knockin and no offense or anything dez, but seeing 'recipe thread' and then seeing 'add peanuts to choc chips! tada!' was funny for some reason... this is good stuff though, hardcore trailmix eh? i had a bunch of recipes and **** around here somewhere, will post em once I can find em.

while I'm thinking about it though I want to add another simple thing... simply adding spices to **** is an often overlooked way to vastly and quickly improve shakes etc that you may have bought in bulk or be tired of... favorites are of course cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, almond or rum extracts...

***WARDOG'S PROTEIN BAR MIX***

#1 Here is the recipe:

16 ounces Natural peanut butter
8 tablespoons honey
six scoops of Optimum Chocolate whey protein
powder
1 cup of uncooked oatmeal

Mix the pb and honey in a bowl, microwave on full for 80 secs. Add the rest and mix together. Can add raisins/nuts etc to taste. Smooth into 13x9 tray and leave for 20 mins. Cut into 10 to 12 equal bars and wrap and store in fridge.

This is a great tasting recipe that I modified from one I found on 'bolex

Now here is the breakdown on a batch of the goodies:

Protein: 254 grams
Carbohydrates: 282 grams
Fats: 236 grams

This batch gives you a whopping 4268 calories. Thats right, over 4000 Calories and 250+ grams of protein.

So, if you can't get your bulk on...I DONT WANT TO HEAR IT!!!!!!

Parrillo's Chicken Fingers

1 5-ounce chicken breast, partially frozen

1 tablespoon MCT oil

1/4 cup oatmeal (rolled oats)

Garlic

Paprika

Chili powder

Pepper

Nonstick vegetable cooking spray

1. Cut chicken into thin slices (1 inch X 1/2 inch). Put in bowl, and toss with other ingredients, adding spices to taste.

2. Place chicken strips on a cookie sheet  that has been sprayed with the nonstick vegetable oil and base at 400 F for 15 minutes.

Serves 1

Per serving 387 calories, 39 grams of protein, 17 grams carbohydrates, 5 grams of fat, 76 milligrams of sodium.

Strawberry Crepes

Ingredients

6 large white Egg White
1/4 cup Cheese, cottage, lowfat, 1% milkfat
2 tbs oatmeal
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract, imitation, no alcohol
1/3 cup fresh or thawed, frozen strawberries (chopped) or 2 tbsp sugar-free/reduced-sugar preserves
1 packet artificial sweetener (optional)

Directions

Whip all ingredients except strawberries in blender. Pour batter into preheated non-stick frying pan (coated with non-stick cooking spray) and cook until both sides are lightly browned. You will have about four 6 inch crepes. Fill each with one tablespoon of chopped strawberry or sugar-free preserves. Sprinkle with a packet of artificial sweetener.

Modifications

Crepes can be filled with one or two teaspoons fat-free cream cheese, reduced-fat Neufchatel cheese, yogurt, or even cottage cheese. Chopped walnuts or almonds also taste great sprinkled on top.

ive got a pretty simple, yet high calorie, high protein shake.

2 cups 2% milk
2/3 cup powdered skim milk
1 cup yogurt

if u're into lowfat crap, go with this

2 cups nonfat milk
1/3 cup powdered skim milk
1 cup nonfat yogurt

of course u can also throw in fruit and protein powder or what have u, i just like to keep it simple. tastes good, has something like 700 calories, and around 40 g protein, not too bad.

i forget the exact measurements...however i made these all the time few years back. something like this:

5-6 eggs (or 8-10 egg whites)
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 tsp cinnamon
hand full of peanuts (i prefer no salt added)
1 packet equal (or other sweetner)

mix all 5 ingredients in and heat stove with olive oil. cook til both side is light brown. before you take it off the pan, spread 1-2 tbls peanut butter so the pb melts a bit (nice) or use some sugar free maple syrup. I prefer this over a protein powder based pancake due to the heating process. Taste very nutty....Sage

They stay fresh for quite a while but I useally finish most of em off within the week :) make sure you wrap em in plastic afterwards glad wrap or foil whatever.

1 cup skim milk

1. Pour everything into a blender.

2. Whip and enjoy!

Serves 2

Oatmeal Pancakes by request

1/2 cup instant oatmeal (uncooked)
1/2 cup cottage cheese
5 egg whites (or 2 wholes + 1 white for a skinny guy like you )
1 tsp. vanilla extract
cinnamon (to taste)
2 packs of Sweet 'N Lo

Mix 'em all up in your blender and cook them in a pan using Pam non-stick cooking spray(just like normal pancakes). Flip 'em when they get a littly bubbly.

1 pound chicken breasts
1 pound (preferably) Andouille sausage **
1 pound shrimp, cooked
28 ounces crushed tomatoes
1/2 of a medium onion, chopped
1 large red or green bell pepper
3/4 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup white wine
2 teaspoons Oregano, preferably fresh
2 teaspoons Parsley, preferably fresh
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
2 cups Rice, cooked

** If you can't find Andouille sausage at your local grocery store, any good quality smoked and spiced pork sausage will do. Andouille is simply authentic Cajun victuals, and therefore best for our purposes here.


Cut chicken into one-inch cubes and slice sausage on the bias as thinly as you can manage. Puree onion in a food processor - or chop it if you don't mind getting teary-eyed - and cut your bell pepper into centimeter slices. Put all in crockpot. Add the liquid ingredients and spices (in other words, everything else except for the shrimp and rice), and stir thoroughly to ensure even distribution of spices throughout the ingredients.

Cook in crockpot on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours if you're in a rush. At least 30 minutes before eating, add cooked shrimp and cooked rice, then let them simmer to warm. The longer you cook this - within reason - the more tender and melting your jambalaya will be.

This looks like a great meat loaf recipe. I would delete the brown sugar. There's already enough corn syrup in the ketchup. ;)

For those of you who miss mashed potatoe

Mashed Cauliflower

1 head of Cauliflower
Knob of butter
Dash of cream
Salt and pepper to season
Small handfull of grated cheese.

Sorry for the funky measurements but it's pretty basic and how much of each you use is up to you and your diet.

Trim Cauliflower and give it a good rinse. Chop up and steam untill soft. Add butter, cream and cheese then mash untill at desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper.

This really tastes like mashed potatoe. For an even yummier finish if your diet allows chop up 1 or 2 rashers of bacon, fry it untill crisp and add it too the mash before serving..

pizza crust

this is a pizza crust i have made quite often... i found it on that other place a while back... i usually make 4 at once and freeze them.

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup light parm. cheese
1 egg
and some water.... however much it takes to make it feel right usually about 1/2 cup

mix crap together and cook for 15 min @ 350

put on sauce/toppings cook another 15 min

Turkey Meatloaf

Give this one a shot!

 

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1.25lb pakage of ground turkey
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 large egg
3/4 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer mixture to a large bowl; cool 5 minutes.

Add turkey, bread crumbs, egg, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire, salt and pepper to onion mixture; mix well. Pack into an 8x4-inch loaf pan. Spread remaining 1/2 cup ketchup over top. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until no longer pink in center and internal temperature of loaf reaches 165 degrees. Let stand at room temperature 5 minutes before slicing. Makes 5 servings.

 

Per serving: 243 cals, 30g of protein, 16g of carbs, 7g of fat.

My Super Meal Recipe

i posted this on bb.com forums a while ago...i was very proud of it at the time so i thought i would share my masterpiece with you guys :p...... you may want 2 split it in two and make them two seperate meals as there is quite a lot of protein in it.....

My Super Meal Recipe
100g pasta
1 chicken breast
1 can of tuna
2 egg whites
italian salad
mayonaise
black pepper
casears salad dressing

grill the chicken (foreman if you have one) and then put in the fridge to cool down, then boil 100g of pasta along with 2 eggs, then prepare the tuna by taking 1 small can and mixing it with some mayonaise, take the chicken out the fridge and cut it into small strips and sprinkle it with black pepper, put some salad in a bowl and throw in the chicken pieces and the tuna... then drain the water from the pasta and cut up the egg whites into pieces and throw them in the bowl aswell... mix the pasta with a bit of butter and black pepper and put that in the bowl aswell... to top it off add some caesaers salad dressing and mix it all up,

this will provide you with

protein - 85g
carbs - 70
fats - 10
total kcals - 706

and it's pretty simple

4 Cans of Tuna
6 spoons of Fat Free Mayo (or regular for ketoers) //actually the mayo not needed but its way better with it.
10 egg white // or the whole dozen if you want

It makes a lot of servings... depending on how much you eat
the whole batch contains about

1000+ calories
8 Grams of Fat
16 Grams of Carbs
205!!! Grams of Protein!

(the Mayo adds 2 grams of fat and 12 grams of carbs)

and with the whole dozen of egg whites
1044 Cals
8 Grams of Fat
17 Grams of Carbs
212 Grams of Protein

very general recipe, can add delete more cans blah blah, but this is generally how i make it, its very cheap and lasts a while.

This one is not really a "recipe" but here goes. Mix approximately 2 parts of cottage cheese with 1 part canned tuna. Add some cajun seasoning, Tony Chachere's, or salsa or picante. I actually enjoy the taste. Oftentimes, I will eat this right b/4 bed. It's cheap, easy, and a good source of protein.

I will try to add more "complex" recipes in the future.

Post workout shake:
1-1.5 cups 1% milk
1/2 cup oats
1-2tbs instant pudding mix (your choice) I use banana
1 banana
2 scoops whey
ice cream or ice cubes can also be added

Bed time shake:
1 cup 1% milk
1/3 cup skim milk powder
1 tbs phsillium husks (i use metamucil orange)
1-2 tbs natty PB or flax oil
1 scoop whey

Other good snacks incude:
1-1.5 cups fat free cottage cheese mixed with about 1/2 cup canned peaches

or 1-1.5 cups cottage cheese mixed with about 1/2 cup apple sauce.

Oliveaise (Olive Oil Mayonaise)

This is good alternative to your standards mayonaisse. We know all know how good that olive oil is.



1/2 olive oil
1/2 cup of eggwhites
tbs. Guar or Xanthan Gum
tbs. Garlic powder
Water - start with a cup, gradually add more for desired thickness


Mix all ingredients, except for the water and mix with a hand blender, gradually add water.

I dont know the macronutrient breakdown but I am sure it would be close to cals w/ mayonaise, but w/ a better monosaturate ratio.
