Diet and exercise! In order to cut body fat you have to be at a deficit between caloric intake and calories burned.

You do realize it isn't healthy to be in that state for any extended period of time, right
Ya especially if you are trying to make any kind of strength gains. Much more like to get injured.

5% and you are basically a skeleton. Most people that 'think' they are 13% are closer to 18% or so. How did you come up with 13%?

I think 10% is as low as I'd want to get.

You may want to retest how you determined that. If you were at that bodyfat for more than a day or two, you wouldn't be able to function in the gym or with normal everyday activities.

Nonsense, I stay under 7% year round, and feel great. It depends on your diet and training, in addition I surf every day and play basketball and volleyball twice a week.

........oops wrong kind of shredding!
I have that guitar. Mine's an epiphone though. $4500 is too rich for my blood.

Your not kidding $4500 is crazy expensive for a guitar. I have played the epiphone bullseye before, it has a nice feel to it.

Also Zakk Wylde is my God.
That's actually not that bad for a nice Les Paul, but I still wouldn't pay it. I like mine well enough and it was only 4 bills.
And Zakk is crazy good. Look how big his damn hands are. Master of pinch harmonics.

Nope, I've been under 7% for a long time, I have pictures on here in my album you can check out, or my Bodyspace account on bodybuilding.com.
I've done Skinfold measurements monthly. I've never had pictures professionally done, just taken myself, in my bathroom in unfavorable lighting.

That picture is far from accurate it only gives a ball park figure. Everyone's fat distribution is different.

What's to kid about
Using the online calculator is ridiculous. That's like using a BMI chart. It makes no sense for anyone with any considerable lean body mass.

Get a set of calipers and learn how to measure BF correctly.

skipping that part (which is true), a guy who is 5'10 and 170 @ 10% bodyfat looks way different than a guy who is 5'10 and 210 @ 10% bodyfat. Its not simply that he's bigger either.

Nothing like being told you're overweight by a fat doctor. That said, I never bothered with anything but a mirror (and not for the expensive cocaine diet). All the charts and graphs I've seen are for an "average" person, which excludes many on this forum because we exercise, which is anything but "average." They also do not incorporate a differentiation between lean mass vs adipose mass. I've asked doctors why they check my body weight and not my body fat % and I have yet to hear an answer besides crickets or stuttering some jibberish and avoidance of the question. In short, my experiences with doctors (and certainly there are ones out there who understand things) can be summed up as just a guy with an opinion and an RX pad.

Luckily, in my profession, weight is important, but bf% is of higher importance. I'm considered overweight, but I fall well within the acceptable bf% range.
