Okay when it comes to glycemic load, keeping blood sugar in check, and all of that, what is a "good" sweetener to use in, for example, a homemade protein bar recipe? I have heard honey gently raises blood sugar and one does not "crash" off of it, and it also has positive benefits to endurance. I have also heard stevia is great because it has a negligible effect on blood sugar. But this is not a topic I am very knowledgable of so I thought I would ask for feedback. What would you guys recommend for a "healthy" sweetener?
